But for every Beatles there’s at least one or two Rolling Stones, bands that aren’t terribly respectable and that clearly aren’t worried about cultivating an intellectual legacy. Sometimes you even get a little Beatles and a little Stones in the same band. In an interview years ago with the members of YNOT?! I raised the question of lyrical subject matter. Front man Paul Lewis handled all the words, and he brought a serious social consciousness to the process. But drummer Steve Miller said “I don’t know why we can’t just do songs about getting drunk and getting laid.” So there you have it. Girls just want to have fun, and the same is true for some of the boys, too. Parece que en esta ocasión han dado en la tecla con este " I shall exterminate everyone around me" tras el rotundo exito del pegadizo, casi pegajoso y magnifico "Fire" y el fracaso de sus anteriores "Señor Smoke" y "Switzerland". Sin llegar al nivel de calidad de Fire han conseguido un disco fiel a su peculiar estilo, de buen sabor en boca y facilmente saltable, y para conseguirlo nos proponen diciseis temas, si no es por calidad, al menos que sea por cantidad. Their debut single "Danger! High Voltage" was an underground hit. They became popular fairly quickly for their unique mix of AC/DC like hard rock with disco beats and their anthematic song writing. I must admit to being a huge fan of both their debut Fire and its follow up Senor Smoke. Parece que nadie se atreve a presentar su nuevo trabajo en un mes de agosto en el que andamos pensando más en vacaciones y playa que en nuevos discos. Electric Six han decidido esperar hasta el próximo 9 de octubre para sacar a la venta en EEUU su cuarto álbum de estudio. Supongo que poco despúes será su lanzamiento internacional.
