2008-03-19 03:47:00 I've been a big fan of the public library for a long time. I frequented often in Las Vegas and Omaha. What's not to love? Rows and rows of books, all ready for me to choose and borrow. You can always find these really cozy nooks in almost all libraries that are secluded and quiet, perfect for an afternoon of getting caught up on all the greatest magazines. I spend hours in a library. In Vegas, on the scorching hot days, I never felt guilty for not being outside. Same for Omaha, when it was freakishly cold. I'd stop and get a hot chocolate, maybe bring in my laptop and get lost.I didn't think it could get any better, then I landed in Encinitas, CA. The library here is a dream come true. It was just renovated, it's a few blocks from the beach and I just spent several cherished hours there this afternoon. The architecture is amazing. 2008-01-19 03:27:00 After lunch at Claim Jumper, Curt and I went to the Self Realization Fellowship that is located in downtown Encinitas, about five minutes from the house. It is an amazing, serene tropical oasis located on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The meditation gardens are open and free to the public and forgive me for getting hippie-dippy here, but the energy and vibe is palpable.There were all these nooks and crannies where one could go off to reflect or meditate. I could picture myself sans camera there early in the mornings when it's even more quiet and peaceful, if that's possible. I loved the sun rays beaming down, it felt like a cocoon up there.Tomorrow we have a big day planned with our nephew. We are going to the San Diego Zoo so expect another major picture post soon!Have a great weekend everyone!

2007-10-14 00:35:00 Encinitas approves the Highway 101 project from A. st to La Costa ave. It will be similar to the Solana Beach hwy 101 improrements with sidewalks,art and lanscaping. This means a more friendly and active lifestyle along the coast highway. It will make the neighborhood more safe as well as more attractive. Construction has already begun on The round-abouts and sidewalks on Leucadia blvd. This will also add more of a sense of community and slow down traffic along are coast. Long overdure, it will eventually inhance the values of the homes in that area. The median lanes will become more inviting with more crosswalks for visitors as well as are citizens.
