Enter the Dragon
2008-01-22 16:14:00 The Elephant?s slow but steady march has been noted by the dragon. A realistic, noneuphoric appraisal of Manmohan Singh’s visit to China suggests that Beijing is more amenable to treating New Delhi on an equal footing than ever before. The political benchmark for judging Sino-Indian relations has been a visit-by-visit assessment ever since Rajiv Gandhi’s ground-breaking trip to China in 1988. Singh’s visit marks a major step-up in endeavour: India and China are now gearing up to act in bilateral concert on a global scale. Asked why India-China ties were improving, the Prime Minister said at the end of his three-day visit that the world respected the strong, not the weak. ‘If India is strong economically, politically, socially, [the] world will respect us more… and take note of our concerns,? Singh stressed. In essence, the PM said the Chinese had recognised India’s strengths as a nation and were now ready to do business with us on a range of iss...

Enter the Dragon?
2007-11-27 12:58:00 According to the BBC, an interesting debate has been sparked off in the House of Commons. It appears that Wrexham's Labour MP - Ian Lucas, has called for the Dragon of Wales to appear on the Union Flag.Peterborough's Tory MP - Stewart Jackson has opposed the idea and labelled it as "eccentric" and unpopular. However, I'm all for it. The intellectual legalists will argue of course that Wales is technically a principality and not a full blooded country... so there is no need. Crusty traditionalists will be opposed because "it's been like this for 207 years and hasn't needed changing, so why change now?" However, we refer to Wales as a "home nation" in our sports... and most people seem to culturally identify Wales as a country if you talk to them. So surely this weakens the former argument. The latter argument against - the traditionalist one, isn't even a supported one. It's just an opinion based solely on personal feeling.I actually think sticking a dragon on the front of our ...

Bruce Lee vs. Bob Wall (Lee vs. O'hara, Enter the Dragon)
2007-10-05 19:58:00 I consider this to be one of my favorite Bruce Lee fight scenes of all time-http://www.youtube.com/wat-ch?v=u2c-YuMp5W4One thing to point out- I know a lot of Chunners (Wing Chun) who love trying to demonstrate the first series of basic trapping movements shown by Lee. However, knowing how to do that does not mean you know how to fight. If you are a practitioner of WC and can't execute a move like that without relying on a static beginning position shown in the scene, you don't have a technique, you have a parlor trick. It's a movie- you want your style to actually work for you and not force you to be considered a pussy by the rest of the Martial Arts Community? Train hard, spar in an alive manner, and for christ's sakes, stop being so defensive about your style. When it's been shown time and time again that the majority of your peers just aren't as good as they say they are, it's up to you to show others that you yourself are not a failure, and that they shouldn't just brus...

2007-09-20 07:57:00 ?20-inch? and ?notebook? are two words that should probably be never used together in a single sentence. This computer gives new meaning to ?the straw that broke the camel?s back?, but on the bright side, the camel can enjoy a feast of entertainment choices on this somewhat portable powerhouse. A HP PR representative sent me an ...
Enter The Dragon.
2007-08-20 19:48:00 Yesterday was a complete and total washout. No trip to Ladew Gardens. No excursion to the Jerusalem Mill. Rain will do that to you. And it rained. All day. Although, we did get in a nice little shopping trip…off to PetSmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Circuit City, along with lunch at Arby’s. I was ...
Enter the Dragon: China’s Investments
2007-08-01 00:00:00 ILLUSTRATION FOR TIME BY MARCO CIBOLA The issue is straightforward enough, even if few countries have ever had to deal with it on this scale before: thanks primarily to its thriving export industries, China has $1.4 trillion (and counting) in its pocket, and has to put it somewhere. For years, the investment of choice has ...

Enter the Dragon?s Lair in HD-DVD
2007-07-14 15:15:00 Remember that old laserdisc coin-op game back from 1983 called “Dragon’s Lair”? Created by former Disney animator Don Bluth “Dragon’s Lair” was like nothing else seen before in the arcades and it sparked a small wave of animated and later full-motion video titles that gobbled many quarters.
