entrapment
2008-04-18 09:30:00 the restaurant in the background (gilli) has a prime location for the tourist crowd. i'm not sure howe we got sucked in, but our senses got the better of us as we slinked out the back before putting our orders in. ordinarily, i have no qualms with price; but i'm not sure of the appeal of spending 20 euros for a hamburger. perhaps if it's made from kobe beef topped with foie gras and truffles; but no, this was just a hunk of beef on a bun. oh, and you want fries with that? that'll be 7 euros more. while missing out on a juicy burger may be appealing, this was italy afterall, and we found ourselves planted in a little pizzeria with a fine bottle of wine instead. total damage: 50 euros for 2 pizzas, lots of crostinis, and a nice bottle of chianti classico. very nice-ah!

Who are the Pirates when the record industry resorts to entrapment ?
2007-09-19 12:00:00 Here's the indomitable Trent Reznor extolling his Australian fans to "steal" his latest album (Year Zero) - in fact to "steal, steal, steal away". Apparently the price of CD's in the antipodes is extremely high, with much of the money made kept by the music production and distribution industry. In an interview in May with the Herald Sun in Australia he said this on the high price of CD's: "You got record labels that are doing everything they can to p--- people off and rip them off." Lashing out at his own record label (Universal Media Group (UMG)) he said, "I've garnered a core audience that you feel it's OK to rip off? F--- you'. That's also why you don't see any label people here, 'cos I said, 'F--- you people. Stay out of my f---ing show. If you wanna come, pay the ticket like anyone else. F--- you guys.' They're thieves. I don't blame people for stealing music if this is the kind of s--- that they pull off." Although I find it hard to believe that if Tre...

Apple DRM-free music = entrapment?
2007-06-03 17:43:00 The BBC reports that Apple is getting in a little hot water with the launch of their new DRM-Free tracks on iTunes. DRM stands for Digital Rights Management, and refers to the technology which prevents you from copying songs bought on iTunes to a large number of your friend’s iPods. Apple recently announced they are removing DRM from songs provided from record label EMI. What Apple forgot to mention in their initial press release was that in place of the digital rights management, they would associate your personal information with each downloaded music file. So its now easier than ever to share your iTunes-purchased music with friends - it’s also much more likely you’ll get caught for doing so. Copyright © 2007 New Mediaist Internet Marketing. 19- Meralgia Paresthetica (Entrapment of the lateral cutaneous nerve of th
2006-09-01 15:09:00 -What is Meralgia Paresthetica? The lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh is a sensory nerve that originates in the nerve roots of the lower back (2nd and 3rd lumbar roots), and supplies sensation to the front and outside portion of the thigh. It passes through and under the inguinal ligament (which forms the groove where the leg attaches to the body at the front), and can sometimes become entrapped under it . An entrapment point is where it goes through an opening or tunnel in the lateral attachment of the inguinal ligament to the anterior superior spine. A second entrapment point is where it pierces the fascia lata. This causes the nerve to malfunction and transmit less sensation (numbness) or distorted sensation (tingling and burning) to the brain. This entrapment and it?s symptoms are called Meralgia Paresthetica (meros = thigh, algia = pain, paresthertica = numbness or abnormal sensation). - Who gets Meralgia pareshetica?Body or trunk shifts can stress the nerve, also adduction of...
