I've been reading a book by John Piper, entitled "Don't Waste Your Life!" and while I was aware of him as a pastor, I was not aware that he was an author, or that his writing was so inspirational and even educational. It was while I was reading this book, and studying the doctrine of tithes and offerings, and how it applies to New Testament Christians, that I had my epiphany moment. You see, I always thought I pretty firm grasp of what the Bible meant when it said "the Lord will provide for your needs". I do hope my 2.6.24 kernel-related sound problem gets resolved (even though I can just use an older kernel and have all the sound I want). The other bug that's bugging me is one in which the Epiphany browser (but not Iceweasel/Firefox) always starts in the "working offline" mode, no matter whether I have the Internet connected or not. I don't know whether or not the Debian team is going to get around to "fixing" this bug, since there's a fix out there that anybody can do. Curiously, I had to find it in another Debian bug report.

We have been there a couple of times in the past for a drink in the bar, but never for dinner. The restaurant is located at 21 W. Victoria St, and the building in which the restaurant is located, was built in the 1800's. The decor is warm and modern with rustic architectural feature like the brick archways in between the small intimate dining rooms.After arriving, being seated, and presented the menu, we were served an Amuse Bouche, White Asparagus Salad with Truffle Vinaigrette on Endive. Very light with subtle flavors. The salad also contained Granny Smith apples which added a juicy, sweet/tart crunch to the dish. I have looked up where the expression comes from: Apparently all the Christians used to celebrate Christmas on 6th January. When a new calendar was adopted, Catholics started celebrating Christmas on December 25th while the Protestants kept the same date as before (If I understood it properly). So the Catholics started celebrating the Epiphany (when the Wise Men came to visit Jesus)on January 6th! Depending on which part of the country you are, the type of galette varies. Actually, I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty psyched about it. For one, it gives me a reason to finally clean my apartment. But, more importantly, it gives me the opportunity to speak in person with the man who was integral to my own conversion of faith in and love for the Church. Of course, James White may consider a visit by Dave to be a curse of epic proportions, but I am very happy to welcome him to my humble abode.
