El ZULO! An Ergonomic Chair Pod For The Power Nap

Just looking at the design for El ZULO, Spanish for "the hideout," makes me sleepy. Instead of putting my head down right here at my desk and catching a few zzz's before my stiff neck and back cry "Oooh, that hurts!," I imagine myself mustering just enough energy to get up, move a few feet away from my desk, and assume a similar, but ergonomic, position in this peaceful, padded, perfectly positioned chair pod for my power nap. Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000
2008-02-18 01:35:00
Ergonomic keyboards seem to be all the rage these days. For us it is probably too late, our claw like fingers already gnarled and twisted by years of gruelling late nights in the test centre. However, for many of you there is probably still hope and Microsoft believes that hope may come in the form of its latest ergonomic keyboard and mouse combo, the Natural Desktop 7000. Sporting a curved keyboard split straight down the middle and a mouse that bears more than a passing resemblance to an egg, this package takes some getting used to, but if you find your fingers regularly feeling strained after a long day at the office then this may be the package for you. One of the most difficult things to adjust to is having half the keys on one side and half on the other. Many self taught typists won't always use the correct finger for each key, and as a result you may find yourself automatically tapping in no-man's-land between the two sections and wondering why you keep getting the word 'r...

Ergonomic Tools: Which Tools Are Useful?
2008-01-04 16:01:00
There’s a killer ergonomics article at Science Daily right now, that discusses all the new fangled ergonomic tools for office workers. The article looks at studies of new devices to see how they fare. Some were winners and others, well, on others you can save your money. The research was completed by Alan Hedge, an international authority on office ergonomics He looked at some new office gear to see if these products can really prevent repetitive motion injuries among computer users. Here are two of the findings:Vibrating mouse: Hedge found that using a vibrating mouse is not too useful. It was noted that people did take their hand off of their mouse more often, but basically their hand just hovered above the mouse – still no good. Undulating chairs: If you haven’t heard of these chairs, they provide a constant massage of sorts for the sitter. Hedge found that this type of chair holds real promise for relieving back pain.
