2009-04-20 02:06:00 Giants try to pick up a free agent receiver and other pre draft notes It seems that the reports hold some truth at least: The Giants want to swing a deal with the Browns to get Braylon Edwards, who is another talented but "difficult" to work with receiver. Edwards may have some problems working with new Browns and Ex Jets Head Coach Eric Mangini, which seems to be the main issue right now. The Browns want a #2 and a #5 pick in this draft, plus receiver Steve Smith. The Giants countered with the two picks plus receiver Dominik Hixon. What some people are missing is that Edwards isn't Burress. He's two+ inches shorter and 15 pounds lighter. Can he play the same "Jump Ball in the End Zone" game? Sure he can. But if Hixon also goes in the deal the Giants would still need to get another "taller" wide out in the Draft or Via Free Agency to help stretch the defensive backs.I'll cast my vote for Brian Robiskie early, or Ramses Barden late. I prefer to see a team built through the draft...

The Ink isn't even dry on his contract yet (If he even signed it) and his Wikipedia page has already been updated! What a country we live in eh? Speaking of people interested in NFL Head Coaching Jobs, the Jets have indirectly caused the firing of Boston College's Head Man, Jeff Jagodzinski. BC's AD Gene DeFlippo warned "Jags" if he Interviewed for the Jets job he would be terminated. Meanwhile he claims he has a "Stack" of interested head coaching candidates from other schools. Isn't that kind of two faced Gene? You fired your "Close Friend" for wanting to see if he could possibly return to the NFL, but you have no problem poaching a coach from somewhere else? What a Country.....

We worked hard to achieve two winning seasons out of the past three. I regret that we could not reach our goals for this year. I will always appreciate the passion and support of the fans as our focus was trying to build them a championship-caliber foundation and team.What do you think he's trying to say here??

Eric Mangini is a turd
2007-10-30 18:23:00 Imagine this: Ronnie Brown suffers a knee injury (I suppose that'll be easy to imagine). However, we don't know what the injury is or even what knee it is to. Two days later on a local radio station, Ronnie then says he isn't injured. The next day, he gets placed on Injured Reserve. Why? We still don't know. Brown then goes back on the same radio program a week later. They ask him what his injury is and Ronnie tells them to "use their imagination." They ask him which knww it is and he tells them they "have a 50/50 chance of guessing." One of the hosts then says he thinks it's the right knee. Ronnie responds by saying that "it could be, but if it isn't, then it's the other." Luckily, we don't have to worry about this ever happening. But that situation above was exactly what played out in New York and with Jonathan Vilma because Mangini doesn't allow his players to talk about injuries. It was alm...

2007-09-09 22:24:00 The "C" on the uniforms look kinda cheesy. I mean is the NFL trying to mimic the NHL? Why not just stitch up an "A" on the uniforms for the assistant captains as well!Notice the plethora of patches being worn by teams this year marking some sort of anniversary year? The Redskins, the Packers, and the Eagles so far have them on. I'm sure there are other teams as well, but I haven't watched every game yet. (And I won't be, but I'm just making a point...)The Jets wore their away whites at home today. Was that to make them cooler in the summer heat? Man, Mangini and Belichick really despise each other.The Chargers new uniforms look sleek and yet old school at the same time. I just wish they'd put the numbers on the helmets like when they used to wear the baby blue jersey.Oh and are the green dots on the back of the QB helmets really necessary?
