Erlend Øye - Sudden Rush
2008-01-08 21:31:00 Erlend Øye is a Norwegian musician from Bergen, best known for being part of the pop duo Kings of Convenience together with Eirik Glambek Bøe. He has released one solo album, Unrest in 2003 and a mix CD in the DJ-Kicks series in 2004. Furthermore he has released his first album of the band The Whitest Boy Alive.He was born November 21st 1975 in Bergen and formed the band Skog together with some friends in the mid 1990s. He moved to London and played in the band Peachfuzz in 1997. When he was back home in Bergen for vacations he jammed with Bøe. They formed Kings of Convenience in 1998 and released their first album, Quiet is the New Loud in 2001. Øye had become interested in electronic music and spent the next years in Berlin or travelling around the world, recording his solo album Unrest together with ten different electronica artists such as Metro Area, Prefuse 73 and Schneider TM, in ten different cities. Erlend Øye en el Normandie
2007-01-15 04:04:00 La noche del sábado fue el esperado concierto de Erlend Øye en Chile.Sin su partner Eirik Glambek Bøe, con quién forma el dúo Kings of Convenience, Erlend se subió al escenario del cinearte Normandie con la idea de realizar una sesión acústica, acompañado sólo por un teclado y su guitarra. Sin embargo, el concierto terminó siendo interpretado por todos los fans que repletaron el recinto y que aportaron sus aplausos, preguntas y silvidos para musicalizar parte de una canción.La cosa comenzó a eso de las 21:30 con los teloneros Iris, banda que mezclaba hip hop con guitarras noise y un errático bajo, a cargo de Dadalu, que no mostró muchas luces. Por el contrario, dieron la impresión de ser una banda en formación, con las cosas no muy claras y aún en etapa experimental. Luego de un break, a eso de las 10:15 apareció en el escenario Erlend Øye, con el look más simple que se haya visto en escenario alguno. 2006-12-23 09:17:02 La noticia corrió rápido. Erlend Øye estará en Chile este 13 de enero en el cine arte Normandie (Santiago). Al parecer, también vendría a Valparaíso, aunque eso está por confirmarse.Erlend junto Eirik Glambek Bøe son los nombres tras el dúo noruego de folk/pop/electrónica Kings of Convenience, que el 2001 editaron "Quiet Is the New Loud".Luego del relativo éxito de este disco, Erlend partió a Berlin y editó su disco solista "Unrest" (2003), un trabajo mucho más electrónico que el que realizaba en KOC. El año siguiente, y en la misma línea electrónica, participó en la serie Dj Kicks remezclando temas de Cornelius, The Rapture, Röyksopp, Villalobos y KOC, entre otros.El 2004 se reunió nuevamente con Eirik para editar el exitoso "Riot on an Empty Street", mi disco preferido y el más exitoso de esta dupla (¿quién no se ríe solo escuchando "I'd rather dance with you"?).Ahora estará en Chile gracias a los chicos de super45, así es que a juntar plata - no se gasten todo en navidad y año ...
