INK BLAST | LET'S RAISE MORE HEALTHY AND HAPPY BLACK GIRLS, LIKE THE OBAMA
2008-12-01 19:31:00 The Obamas' little girls represent an ideal of childhood that sadly too few Black children enjoy. It's rare when any two little Black girls get a lot of positive attention in the media. But Malia, 10, and Sasha, 6, who are the picture of healthy, happy kids, have been making a splash.
Down With Race, Up With Ethnicity
2008-09-01 16:20:00 The latest death toll figures from Hurricane Katrina can be seen on this website here. The famous Russian neo-Nazi video is on this blog here.Updated September 2:In the comments threads, James Schipper, one our fine commenters who usually has something brilliant to say, discusses the post, On the Non-persistence of Any Jewish Agenda: One of the most politically correct countries in the world is Sweden. How many Jews are there in Sweden? The Netherlands also used to be very PC, but its Jewish minority is not even 0.5% of population. As you said, it is to easy to blame PC on Jews. It makes Gentiles look like innocent children that can be manipulated at will by the Chosen Ones.I don't think that we should confuse ethnocentricity with racism. An ethnic group is not a race. An ethnic group can be composed of several races and a race can be divided into many ethnic groups. The Brazilians are an ethnic group, but they aren't one race.Europeans in 1950 were for practical purposes all whit...

My last name is Hispanic, not due to my ethnicity ...
2008-04-26 03:22:00 My last name is Hispanic, not due to my ethnicity (I'm English and German in that respect) but to my stepgrandfather adopting my father, and while I haven't experienced blatant discrimination that I'm aware of (outside of , I have had people express surprise when they meet me, or surprise at my last name. Oddly, although I'd assume my European, Biblical first name wouldn't go with my last name, I've found quite a few other women with my same name in Google searches.

2008-04-14 12:40:00 To Mr. Larry Birns, Director of The Council of Hemispheric AffairsDear Mr. Birns,We are shocked and appalled that Mr. Kovach was permitted to use the esteemed Hemisphere Institute to promote his unfounded anti-Hellenic agenda and attempt to promote negative feelings against Greece and the people of Greece. We expect and demand an apology by Mr. Kovach to the Hellenic community at large that he so much insulted. PAN-MACEDONIAN ASSOCIATION USA ANSWERS ZLATKO KOVACH'S ALLEGATIONS ON Macedonia: Reaching Out To Win L. AmericanZlatko Kovach, in his Macedonia: Reaching Out To Win L. American Hearts, proves one more time that he is the product of the continuous brainwashing condition and lies, provided by an education system which emerged from a Balkan nation, under Tito¢s and Stalin¢s tutelage. Mr. Kovach begins his elaborations, stating: "Macedonia historically and culturally did transcend the country's current borders. In 1912-13, through two brutal regional wars, Mac...

Politics not ethnicity behind Kenya crisis
2008-02-07 06:58:00 By Andrew Cawthorne NAIROBI (Reuters) - Political manipulation rather than ethnic hatred is driving Kenya's post-election violence, says a leading author and scholar on the east African nation. Oxford University's Professor David Anderson also criticised both sides of Kenya's political divide, saying President Mwai Kibaki was "playing Russian roulette" with Kenya's democracy while opposition leader Raila Odinga was "dead in the water". Anderson -- author of "Histories of the Hanged", about the Mau Mau revolt during British colonial rule in the 1950s -- said he was worried for the future of Kenya, where about 1,000 people have died in unrest following the Dec. 27 vote. "I've always felt that Kenya's middle classes and civil society were strong and robust, and would eventually overcome the problems created by their political elite," he said. "At the moment, I'm probably at the most pessimistic I have been in my entire life. I...

Race, Ethnicity, Parent Education Predict Facebook Use
2007-11-26 03:24:00 EVANSTON, Ill. --- New research from Northwestern University finds that college students' choice of social networking sites -- including Facebook, MySpace and Xanga -- is related to their race, ethnicity and parents' education. The findings challenge discourse about the democratic nature of online interaction and fly in the face of conventional wisdom suggesting that all college students communicate via Facebook, the popular social networking site (SNS) launched in 2004 by a Harvard undergraduate.?That race, ethnicity and the education level of one's parents can predict which social network sites a student selects suggests there's less intermingling of users from varying backgrounds on these sites than previously believed,? says Eszter Hargittai, author of "Whose Space? Differences Among Users and Non-Users of Social Network Sites.?That study, now in the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, finds that Facebook is the social networking site of choice for white students, that...
