2008-06-01 16:19:00 Just a few minutes drive from our house, Bang Wad reservoir is Phuket's largest water supply, located in the hills to the west of Phuket Town. To get there just find Phuket Country Club Golf Course and drive through and all the way to the reservoir. During the day there's not much going on, but in the late afternoon, lots of people come here to exercise, jog, ride bikes, picnic, play takraw, let the kids run around... There's lots of space, and some keen joggers even run right around the reservoir (a circuit of about 6km).The reservoir is over 1km long, and the dam is 800m long - pretty big, yet with the increasing population and demands of tourism in Phuket, there are occasional water shortage "scares" in Phuket. There is talk of pumping water to Phuket from the enormous Chiew Lan Lake at Khao Sok (about 125km from Phuket Town as the crow flies).We like to take walks along the dam, let the kids race, play on some big rocks... My eczema outbreak, skin problem that is, almost made me too self conscious to leave home. In fact I just let myself be confine to my air conditioned bedroom! The temperature is just not showing any mercy to me outside either. When I sweat, I get into trouble. Itchy and bleeding skin. When I don't sweat, I get into trouble. Flaky and dry skin.Back to my idea of a dull evening, sitting in front of the laptop and playing computer games. Not that there isn't blog work to do, just that sometimes I don't have the mood to do anything. Suzanne's Cuisine is definitely one of them. Locals recommended it, visitors recommended it, online reviews were favorable so we had to give it a try. We made reservations over the phone four days in advance for dinner at six thirty in the evening. I was not sure how to respond to their question whether we wanted an inside table or a table on the patio. They noted that the patio is the more popular choice so I went for it. The lady on the other side of the line told me that one of their favorite tables is available and that's where they would seat us. Excellent.
