I have always been a huge fan of SnagIt and use it religiously at work, however, I wanted it at home and never got around to purchasing it. Well… along came FastStone, a perfect alternative to SnagIt but without the price! That’s right, FastStone is FREE :) So far from basic usage it seems to have all of the great basic features of SnagIt but with a smaller weight, I have yet to find a feature I use daily in SnagIt that is not in FastStone. We exclusively use SnagIt and could not work without it (earlier this month Techsmith released SnagIt version 8.2 and it is super sweet!).
