McCain-Feingold is Technologically Dead
2008-05-01 20:48:00
The best laid plans of the Pols have yet again been placed asunder. That bipartisan effort to ‘cure’ campaign finance, BCRA, will be totally destroyed by this. BCRA puts a gag order 30 days before an election. It was generally targeted at 527 groups and other financially well healed political groups. SaysMe is where ...

The cult of Russ Feingold
2008-02-22 20:28:00
By VictorM:The greatest US Senator on the land had been reluctant to endorse any Democratic candidate but now, even without an official endorsement, Russ Feingold has sent a strong signal:Sen. Russ Feingold said today that he voted for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama in this week's Wisconsin primary and indicated that he likely will vote for Obama's nomination as one of the state's "superdelegates" to the Democratic convention this summer.I'm still willing to support either of the two Democratic candidates, but Russ Feingold's views carry a lot of weight with me. And I'm not the only one:Feingold is the reason I dropped my support for Edwards, so I'm glad to see he and I are on the same page with respect to Obama.I agree 100%. There is no one in government that I too respect more than Senator Feingold and his endorsement seals the deal for me!I know the world does not work this way, but I wish he could be veep.

Feingold and Krauthammer Question Edwards? Newly Developed Principles
2008-01-26 02:26:00

What?s at Stake in Pakistan by Senator Russ Feingold, The Huffington Post
2007-11-15 10:58:00
Indeed, recent events in Pakistan highlight the administration’s failure to carry through on its stated commitment to promoting democratic reforms and basic human rights. In March 2000, just prior to President Clinton’s visit in Pakistan with General Musharraf, I urged him to press Musharraf to act on his stated intentions to return Pakistan to civilian ...
Senate blocks Feingold legislation to redeploy troops
2007-09-21 02:03:00
On Thursday, Senate Republicans successfully staged a filibuster against legislation sponsored by Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). The Feingold-Reid amendment would have required President Bush to begin redeploying the troops out of Iraq within 90 days of its passage. It would have also required that a complete withdrawal of forces out of Iraq be finished by June 30, 2008.

And so it should. Richard The Dick Turbin Durbin is whining and continuing with the usual proven to be false rhetoric as losers tend to do.They are trying to get a differing Murtha Slow Bleed Ignorance with Schumer parroting that which Reid yammers on about and they are quoting the poll taken in Iraq and NOT listening to the Generals and Commanders in the field. Imagine that.I guess no one has informed these idiots that we are winning or, they KNOW we are winning and this is not to be allowed...for political gain.Feingold's amendment is nothing more than another slow bleed travesty. Feingold: Why A Surge Focus is Bogus
2007-09-11 21:32:00
If there's any lesson to be learned from 9/11, this message (in the form of his questions and comments to Iraq ambassador Ryan Crocker and General David Petraeus) from Senator Russ Feingold should be it:
Russ Feingold with Chris Wallace
2007-08-01 14:38:00
Sometimes I marvel at the ability of politicians to simply stay on message regardless of the questions being asked. You see it in debates, you see it in television interviews, you see it during friendly QA sessions, you see it pretty much endlessly when it comes to politics. Usually a typical example goes something like this: Question: What can you tell us about subject A Politician: Well A is very important and I have some great ideas on the subject, sort of like the subject B which I want to talk about. subject B, subject B, subject B... On Sunday, Feingold gave a clinic in ignoring what was being said, while staying on subject no matter what. Can't tell if Feingold is just politically talented or logically challenged. WALLACE: Senator, according to this morning's New York Times, Gonzales may actually have been right. The dispute may have been over ? and this gets very technical ? the computer searches of databases, not the interception of phone calls. But in any point, ...

Feingold Wants Censure
2007-07-23 03:14:00
It's an uphill battle, but he'll probably have the support of the people behind him.Impeachment though...he can't impeach a president for being immoral, only for doing something specifically illegal and while I think that's probably been the case with our president, until you can make a case for it, impeachment should be left off the table.

The McCain-Feingold Effect
2007-07-13 15:31:00

GONZALEZ HEARING: Sen. Feingold's Questions
FEINGOLD: CONGRESS´S DUTY
2007-01-31 06:57:00
Today, in his opening remarks at a Judiciary Committee hearing on "Congress´s power to end a war", U. S. Senator Russ Feingold, supported by a panel of legal experts, made a call to Congress to assume its responsibility as a co-equal branch of government and use its power to end the war in Iraq:"Since the President is adamant about pursuing his failed policies in Iraq, Congress has the duty to stand up and use its power to stop him. If Congress doesn’t stop this war, it’s not because it doesn’t have the power. It’s because it doesn’t have the will". READ ON… MORE INFO…
Russ Feingold-not a smart man.
2007-01-29 23:20:02
I want everyone to be clear on exactly what my proposal will do. The first and most important thing to know is that my plan does not cut funding for the troops. Our troops will continue to receive the salaries, equipment, training and protection they need. What I am proposing is ending funds for the continued deployment of U.S. forces in Iraq six months after the enactment of the bill. This will require the President to safely redeploy troops from Iraq by that date. My bill does provide exceptions to allow for specific types of military missions within Iraq past the six-month deadline, such as targeted counter-terrorism efforts, the protection of American personnel and infrastructure, and a limited number of troops needed to help train Iraqi security forces. But these will be limited forces used for specific missions. OK, insurgents. Hold on for 6 months. In a burst of tough love, a policy not adhered to by Democrats on any other issue except ones where it hurts the United States...
FEINGOLD TO CHAIR JUDICIARY HEARING ON CONGRESS?S POWER TO END A WAR
2007-01-26 20:51:05
from BradBlog Washington, D.C. ? On Tuesday, January 30th, U.S. Senator Russ Feingold will chair a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing entitled, ?Exercising Congress?s Constitutional Power to End a War.? Earlier this month, Feingold, Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, became the first Senator to call on Congress to use its power of the purse to redeploy our troops safely from Iraq so that we can refocus on the global terrorist networks that threaten our national security. Feingold proposed this action after President George Bush announced plans to escalate our military involvement in Iraq despite the objections of members of both parties, military and foreign policy experts, and the American people. ?Congress holds the power of the purse and if the President continues to advance his failed Iraq policy, we have the responsibility to use that power to safely redeploy our troops from Iraq,? Feingold said. ?This hearing will help inform my colleagues and the pu...

Lions for Lambs… The McCain Feingold version
