2008-03-27 13:00:00 There were around 32 international matches last night and here is a round up of how the Manchester United players did:Wayne Rooney, Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves all started for England but they all had different matches. Rooney only played the first half as the main striker but he was given the same role as Fernando Torres is given at Liverpool and that doesnt suit him, i honestly dont think that Rooney can play upfront on his own. Brown had a night to forget, at one point it looked like David Beckham was playing at right back and Brown was playing at the right midfield. Ferdinand had a good, strong match but at the last 15/20 minutes it looked like he was carrying an injury. In some newspapers this morning apparently his agent Pini Zahavi has said that negotiations for a new contract will not take place before the summer. I can understand that Rio wants to concentrate on the football which is fair enough, but the way i see it is, you either want to be at United or not. But, good news for all United fans is that Pini Zahavi spoke to skysportsnews and said that they will start contract talks shortly.
