Ferrari Dino to be launched at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show
2007-09-26 11:56:00
The new Dino will be a front-engined model featuring a two-piece folding hardtop. From the first spy photos you can see that the new Dino’s shape does indeed echo that of the original 246 GT, with a cab-backward design reflecting the engineering layout. The Dino’s roots are born in the the car Maserati was going to build alongside the Granturismo - but could not fund. Instead, the Trident brand is now developing a straightforward open-top version of the full-size coupe, while Ferrari has taken over the smaller car for the Dino project. Also Ferrari is working on a F430 replacement. Known as the F142 it will feature an all-new design, and will be unveiled in ate 2009 or early 2010.The F142 will no longer be available as a soft-top Spyder. I will be lighter still than the 430 Scuderia and will be a mid-engined model. It will be powered by a turbocharged small displacement direct-injection V8 engine.

SPY VIDEO: Ferrari Dino
2007-09-23 07:03:00
Ferrari Dino Spied Ferrari Dino Spied This footage is showing a mule of the new car. Based on a 599 body it doesn’t yet give away so much but at least a little of what will become the new Dino. What identifies the test car as a mule for the Dino is the engine sound, or should we say the lack of it. It clearly doesn’t sound as sharp as a F430 for example. The Classic Dino was built between 1968 and 1976, and its name honours the founder Enzo Ferrari´s son, Alfredino “Dino“ Ferrari, who died in 1956 at the age of 24 from a muscular dystrophy. While that vintage Dino had a V6 behind the driver, the new one will be powered by a V8 with 400 bhp. Ferrari will most likely start with a Coupe, but expect a Spider later on. There is a high possibility that Pininfarina will do the design work with input from former Ferrari design boss Frank Stephenson, who now heads Fiat´s Centro Stile operation. The Dino will be starting at approximately 100-110.000 Euros....

2007 FERRARI DINO CONCEPT DESIGN BY UGUR SAHIN
2007-06-25 02:39:00
Ferrari Dino Concept design is the modernized version of the successful Ferrari Dino produced by Ferrari. The goal was to create a car that feels stylish, modern, dynamic and organic while staying true to the original design language of the Ferrari Dino and Ferrari brand in general. The main characteristic of the Dino Concept design is the way it looks similar to the original Dino. With very round styling elements around the wheelbases and its cockpit, it looks retro and modern at the same time. With the right proportions combined, the car looks very dynamic and stylish. It stays true to its original with the design of the rear and the front being rounded and avoiding the hard edges as much as possible. Also the rear window opening is a striking feature originating from the original Ferrari Dino. The air intakes scoops however are very different compared to the original Dino, they look very organic and visually add a very organic feel to the car.
Ferrari Dino design study
2007-06-23 12:36:00
Ferrari is yet to reveal whether or not the entry-level Dino has even been confirmed for production but that hasn?t stopped one enthusiast from creating his own design for the car. The Ferrari Dino Concept design was penned by Ugur Sahin, whose goal was to create a car that feels stylish, modern, dynamic and organic while staying true to the original design language of the Ferrari Dino and Ferrari brand in general. Early reports suggest that we may see a production Dino by 2010, and Germany?s AutoZeitung has speculated that some form of the car will be displayed at September?s Frankfurt Motor Show. Previously, Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo revealed that a new car based on the F430 will be in Frankfurt, however, this could simply be the F430 Challenge Stradale. If built, the Dino would likely feature a mid-mounted V8 engine displacing in the vicinity of 4.0L and an aluminum chassis. Power levels should be upwards of 400hp, with drive sent to the rear wheels via an F1-style gearb...
