Greetings from Google, Festivus for Webmasterus!
2007-12-24 17:49:00
On Google Webmaster Central Blog and in the post titled "A Festivus for our webmasterus." Google says "If it's good enough for the Costanzas, it's good enough for Webmaster Central: it's time for a Festivus for the rest of us (webmasterus)!" The most apt things to remember for starting celebrating Christmas celebration by Googlers seem to be the new developments which have come about as the most popular Webmaster Tools features which the blog considers to be the "Feats of Strength — for 2007." First is the queue are the webmaster tools which help you to "view a much larger sample of links to pages on your site that we found on the web. (...)
The Festivus Airing of Grievances
2007-12-24 00:13:00
Today is Festivus, the nondenominational holiday made famous on Seinfeld. The Festivus celebration includes The Airing of Grievances in which each participant at the Festivus Dinner tells each other all the instances where they disappointed him or her that year. In past years I have done an blog version in which I aired my ...
Festivus!

Today is Festivus! I just love that show Seinfeld… in fact I think that many things that happen in life can always somehow be related to an episode of Seinfeld. It is just really kinda weird how that works but for some strange reason it really does. So happy Festivus and don’t ...
Festivus - A Festivus For The Rest Of Us!
2007-12-23 20:16:00
It’s that time again for me to wax quixotic about a make-believe holiday started by a television series. As I have said before, I was never a big fan of Seinfeld, but I swear this holiday makes more sense to me every year.  I had a heck of a time getting into the Christmas spirit this ... The Halachot of Festivus
2007-12-23 19:20:00
Festivus is celebrated each year on December 23rd. For the uninitiated, Festivus comes from a Seinfeld episode in which George Castanzas father creates a holiday because he is sick and tired of the commercialism of the “holiday season”, you can read more about it here. What started as a sitcom plot point is now celebrated ...

Happy Festivus!
2007-12-23 16:03:00
A Merry Festivus to all! Hang on, I'll get my list of grievances together, and, well, every day is a feat of strength around here, so, I'll just choose one. OK, I choose folding the laundry while Busy D. sits in the middle of it working a puzzle. Now, where did I put that pole? But, then again, it's also my MIL's birthday, likely not a good time to air grievances.
Memories of Festivus Past
2007-12-23 07:33:00
(This was originally written for Festivus 2005 but remains relevant for this year. Later, in celebration of this year’s Festivus holiday, I will post my grievances for this year, but the old grievances against George Bush remain worth repeating. Note that the Festivus Miracle I wrote about partially came true. We got a Democratic Congress, ...
December 23rd Holidays - Celebrate Festivus the right away by studying the
2007-12-23 05:00:00
Festivus - Does anyone remember this Seinfeld episode featuring George’s family celebration? It’s been a decade since Seinfeld ended, but Festivus lives on in the hearts of loyal fans. The usual Festivus celebration consists of such rituals as a steel pole, a dinner & the “Airing of Grievences,” during which people explain their disappointments ...
New Haven, CT Installs Festivus Pole
2007-12-20 20:09:00
From “The Daily Redundancy”: NEW HAVEN, CT - In an effort to recognize the diverse traditions of the holiday season, the City has installed a Festivus pole in the Market Street square. A dedication ceremony is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. With the addition of this new holiday centerpiece, the square is now thought to be the most diverse public display of late fall holiday symbols in the country. “We’re glad that we can please so many different people.” said Phyllis Strauttman, Executive Director of the Mayor’s Religious and Ethnic Tolerance Initiative. “These Festivus people seem like a lot of fun.” The problem with the picture is the pole is decorated. A true follower of Festivus would not allow it to happen. * *Yes, I know this is satire. Tags: festivus, satire, humor, politically-correctShareThis
Festivus Party?
2007-12-20 18:58:00
It’s 45-below this morning. On the way to school our breath froze to the car windows which was pretty cool. I hope the school crossing guard is getting paid well. In about an hour and a half I will be heading to our office “Festivus Party”. Evidently this is something Seinfeld- related. I’ve never seen Seinfeld in my life, so I haven’t a clue what all is involved beside food. I’m told I qualify to attend this party because I was overheard saying something like I HATE CHRISTMAS. Don’t tell anyone. I must snap out of this cold-induced stupor and get busy on my Festivus casserole, and locating a gift to wrap up. Bye.
How To Celebrate Festivus (For The Rest Of Us)
2007-11-30 16:45:00
Frank Costanza: Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. But out of that a new holiday was born... a Festivus for the rest of us!Cosmo Kramer: That must have been some doll. Frank Costanza: She was.Looking for an alternative to stressful, mainstream winter holidays? Tired of the Hallmark-sponsored worship of Santa? I can't think of a geekier way to ring in the season, either. Read on for a comprehensive guide to celebrating Festivus with your family. 2007-11-29 14:24:00
In this week’s list, I have to include the Holiday Market at Union Square, which remains open until the 23rd of December. It is the perfect market for the season, bright, crowded and totally Christmassy! I know, I know, that’s not a real word, but you know what I mean, right? For more info and ...
