Si bien la voluntad del mandatario se honrará el próximo 24 de febrero, cuando la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular habilitará su nueva legislatura y será conformado el Consejo de Estado, el pronunciamiento ya es valorado aquí como una aleccionadora muestra de madurez política. La continuidad de la Revolución, la confianza en el relevo generacional, y la unidad en torno a la defensa del socialismo, fueron aspectos abordados por el líder revolucionario en su mensaje al pueblo de Cuba. "Afortunadamente -indicó en el texto- nuestro proceso cuenta todavía con cuadros de la vieja guardia, junto a otros que eran muy jóvenes cuando se inició la primera etapa de la Revolución. (?) Cuentan con la autoridad y la experiencia para garantizar el reemplazo".

On the now well-known Super Tuesday, a day of the week when many U.S. states selected the candidate of their choice from among a pool of aspirants to the presidency of the United States, one of the possible candidates to substitute George W. Bush was John McCain.
