2007-07-31 23:42:00 Common: Finding ForeverThe seventh album by Chicago rapper, Common is the follow up to 2005's critical hit Be.Finding Forever follows several of the same formulas from Be: Kanye West and J Dilla production, rapping about love, and that soulful feel. A couple new additions such as guests like Lily Allen, DJ Premier, and D'Angelo and production by will.i.am.The formula isn't quite as successful as before. Kanye West attempts to produce like J Dilla as an homage to the late producer. Often Kanye's production sounds unnatural and a little bit strange.The other weakness on the album is Common's lyrics. Here are a few of the more embarrassing lines on the album: "Be on a treadmill like OK Go", "She said 'I don't date rappers/I said 'I got my SAG card I'm an actor'", and finally "like the Breakup with Jen and Vince Vaughn".Despite these weaknesses, the album is still a much better than the post-Resurrection and pre-Be albums he released.Rating: 7.6/10MP3: Common "Misunderstood"
