In Ireland Fine Gael Fights for ABA for Autistic Children
2008-02-10 22:41:00
Like many North Americans of Irish heritage I watch events in Ireland with enhanced interest. It is not just another country. Excessive romanticism or not, Ireland is where we are from. Ireland, even generations removed, is in our genes and, as everyone following the explosive development of genetic research into autism disorders is aware, genes matter. Following is a press release from Fine Gael detailing the FG effort to improve services, particularly ABA services, for autistic children in Ireland. 10 Feb 2008 FF Govt's Grossly Misguided Autism Policy To Be Overhauled by FG Motion Fine Gael National Press Office Press ReleaseFine Gael National Press Office Press Statement______________________-_______________________________-____________Leinster House Contact Brian Hayes TDDublin 2 Ciarán Conlon Education & ScienceIreland ...
Historical Mayoral Election in Waterford
2007-06-25 23:38:00
I have just come from an historical meeting of Waterford City Council where we elected Cllr Mary O'Halloran as Mayor of Waterford City. Cllr O'Halloran of Fine Gael will now go down in history as the first female mayor of the city. It is amazing to think that in the long history of the city that haven't had a female mayor before now. She was supported tonight by her Fine Gael colleagues, Labour Party, Fianna Fail, Independents and Sinn Fein. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Mayor O'Halloran well in her new position and hope she enjoys her year in office.

He told listeners to Pat Kenny's radio show "I have no intention of doing any business with Fianna Fáil." This surely must end speculation by the media on the issue of coalition with Fianna Fail. This election campaign has shown that there is a hunger amongst the electorate to remove this current Fianna Fail/ PD government. Speaking to Labour Party members in Waterford and around the country there is no appetite in Labour for propping up a jaded Fianna Fail party. Quite the opposite in fact. I don't think I have ever come across a more concerted campaign to remove Fianna Fail from office. In case you missed what Pat had to say today here is a quote from the programme."As regards the electoral strategy I have risked my reputation as leader in constructing a platform with Fine Gael in order to ensure that the people will have the opp...
Bringing sexy back (to Fine Gael)
2007-05-16 17:07:00
Earlier today I had the honour of awarding Fine Gael candidate Ann Marie Martin the title of Queen of the “Dáil Darlings”. She was the clear winner of an opinion poll which we ran on our micro-site www.irishelectionbetting.com, managing to return an impressive 30% of the total poll. The lovely Ann Marie fought off ...
