I’ve been to the Dash In and Loaf N Ladle on Calhoun before — both great places — but I was looking for someplace new and local that I hadn’t tried on a visit to downtown Fort Wayne. Luckily for me, right across the street from the Grand Wayne Convention Center on Washington Boulevard is the Old No. 3 Firehouse Cafe located right above the Fort Wayne Firefighters’ Museum. I entered the museum and let the staff member on duty know I was looking for the Old No. 3 Firehouse Cafe. 2007-08-13 07:00:00 Firehouse arrived at the tail end of the pop-metal explosion of the late '80s and early '90s, releasing their first album in 1991. Featuring vocalist C.J. Snare, Michael Foster, Bill Leverty, and Perry Richardson, the group's melodic, commercial hard rock had immediate chart success; their self-titled debut went platinum and featured two Top 20 singles, "Don't Treat Me Bad" and "Love of a Lifetime." The following year, Firehouse released their second album, Hold Your Fire, which managed to go gold, even as the mainstream was embracing a noisier, punkier hard rock. The band waited three years before releasing Firehouse 3, which showcased a softer, more MOR-oriented band; it was a moderate success. Good Acoustics followed a year later, and in 1999 Firehouse returned with Category 5 and the concert release Bring 'Em Out Live. The facial expressions they put on the dogs and the scenes they steal for them out of James Bond, 10, and other places were just too cute! There are some heavy issues that are dealt with, which are handled pretty well. Josh Hutcherson does not disappoint, doing a very good job as Shane.
