I just got these shoes yesterday - they really look very nice. Something different then my other high heels. These oxford style high heels are made of black leather and have again a 5 1/2 inch (14 cm) high heel. So I now own two shoes with such high heels. I was a very warm day, so I just put this shoes on bare feet. And, as far as I can tell already - these shoes are very comfortable as they are nearly boots. I really like them ;-). Let's gloss over the fact that I missed the delivery, due to being in college, but fortunately, we got in touch with the delivery company, and they would try contact the driver, and see if he could try and deliver it again. And since I'm typing this post on the MacBook, he did. Upon opening the box, and removing the protective foam, you are presented with the MacBook, cables, power supply, Apple Remote, and the Installation discs and manuals. It's nice and lightweight... especially when compared to my old 8 year old laptop. The keyboard layout, will take a little getting used to, but you always get that when you use different ones. As usual with new computers, there's always a big backlog of update to install, but that went pretty quickly, but that was more to do with the fact that I was using a wired connection, rather than the wireless. I have tried a few different distros with varying levels of success - Green OS being the closest so far.I've been playing with XP on the beast too - which worked surprisingly well on the limited hardware and memory.Recently I went back to try a current version of Freespire, which like Green OS is based on Ubuntu. I've had limited success with Ubuntu itself, but strangely enough distros based on it seem to work well.Freespire is no exception. I'd decided to set the laptop to dual boot between XP and Freespire in case everything went tits up. 2008-03-02 00:00:00 Okay, so we've got our Time Capsule up and running here -- we'll be back with a full review once our full 516GB backup is completed, but here are some quick first impressions: You can definitely hear the disks spin up and access. It also sounds like there's a fan in there, but there are no obvious vents for one and we can't feel any air coming out, so the drives might just be that loud. The top is getting quite warm during the backup -- we'll see if it cools down once we stop hitting the drive this hard, but if there really isn't a fan we're a little concerned. Hope those server-grade hard drives like being cooked. You can't transfer an existing Time Machine backup to Time Capsule. Sure, it's easy enough to switch back and get at your old data, but it's still a pain -- and now we have a 1TB drive sitting here with months of backups on it that we can't erase and reuse.
