Poll Results: Not many give Force India a chance at Formula One Championshi
2008-04-20 08:50:00 I had put up a poll a month back asking readers on what they think are the chances of Vijay Mallya backed Force India Formula One team at this years championship and what will be their standings. Here is what the Poll results show: More than 46% readers expect Force India will be in the bottom 4. The first 3 races of this season seem to be pointing at that as well. Good number (27%) of readers feel that they will be in the middle of the pack. I'd be surprised if Force India ranks above number 7. It will be very difficult but not impossible.

F1: Jordan blocks access to Force India factory
2008-03-27 13:30:00 Team founder and former owner Eddie Jordan has thrown a spanner in the works of the Force India outfit, according to reports. The Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell claims that the Irishman, despite no longer owning the team, still controls some of the land surrounding the Silverstone factory in rural England.Jordan has apparently been trying to sell to Force India a section of land that provides access to the team factory. But because the Vijay Mallya and Mol family-owned team has so far refused to buy, it is reported that Jordan blocked access to the factory while the race team and bosses were away for the Malaysian grand prix.Motorsport Aktuell claims that Jordan ordered the dumping of a truckload of concrete on the access road.
Jordan has had access to Force India
2008-03-27 09:24:00 Former Formula One team owner Eddie Jordan has had the main entry road to Force India's Silverstone factory blocked off in a dispute over access across land he owns. The Irish entrepreneur sold the team that is now Force India to Midland before the 2006 season but kept ownership of some of the surrounding land.Local sources said concrete blocks had been placed across the main access while Force India were in Malaysia for last weekend's second race of the season and employees were having to use another entrance.Jordan told Reuters on Wednesday that he had waited for two years for the factory owners to open talks about buying the rest of the land."I had to make a stand, they have to come and talk to me," he said. "I paid for the road and put it on my land.""I've got no problem with (Indian billionaire and Force India co-owner Vijay) Mallya," he added. "It's the people who are managing the business who don't want to talk."

Formula One Championship: Has Force India got any chances?
2008-03-18 16:00:00 The F1 season has started on a wrong note for Force India making its debut at Australian Grand Prix. The mainstay of Force India, the seasoned Giancarlo Fisichella, could not even get his car across through the first bend due to a messy accident. Adrian Sutil, the other rookie driver for Force India did put up some show till the time car gave up. Coming from behind he atleast overtook 5 cars, probably the only solace for Vijay Mallya backed Force India F1 team. Having said that, I would not run to any conclusions as yet, given that more than two thirds of the car could not even get to the checkered flag. I am setting up a month long poll for readers to know what they think about the chances of Force India in this years Formula One Championship.

Adrian Sutil who initially was skeptical about their chances is now not holding back his pleasure in driving then new car and their chances this year. “The new car has improved, that is for sure,” he said. “The first day was quite good in my opinion.
