Lohagad is at a height of 3450 feets and Visapur is at the height of 3550 feet.This place is of historical importance. When Shivaji raided Surat all the wealth was brought to this fort under the supervision of Netaji Palkar. Shivaji used to keep a watch on Konkan and Bhor Ghat from these forts. There is village nearby to Lohagad from where are four doors to the fort they are 'Narayan Darwaja', 'Maha Darwaja', Ganesh Darwaja' and 'Hanuman Darwaja'. There are some ancient sculptures on the Maha Darwaja. Pawana dam can be viewed from this place.Purandar, Sinhagad, Tung and Tikona can be viewed from Visapur. There is a 12 feet long Mortar on the fort.

2007-09-28 08:53:00 Torana is one of the most highest(1440 meters)forts in Maharashtra. It is to the right of Sinhagad. Torana is also called as 'Prachandagad' because it is a wide spread fort. Because it had a lot of 'Toran trees' on it, people started calling it Torana. It is one of the most toughest forts to climb and tests each trekker. When Shivaji conquered this fort he found 22 pots full of gold coins in it, this wealth he used in building Rajgad fort on the 'Muramba Devi' mountain. Torna has lots to view. Devi Mengai a very old temple is of religious importance over here. Rajgad can be seen from this temple. From the fort itself one can see other forts like Raigad, Pratapgad, Rajgad and Sinhagad. When coming from Velhe you cross first Bini and then the Kothi Darwaja. Not very far from the doors are the temples of Torneshwar and Toranaji. Konkan Darwaja, Hanuman Buruj and Bhel Buruj are places to see on this fort.

You come across forest, waterfalls and Tungarli Lake on the way. Rajmachi of comprises two peaks viz Shrivardhan and Manaranjan.3250 feet high Shrivardhan is called the Bale Killa of Rajmachi. It was built to keep a close watch on Konkan. Manaranjan is 2700 feet high, with several water tanks, strong walls and with 3 doors. Points like Bhimashankar, Matheran, Nagphani and Karnala can be seen from here. Khondave Caves and Bhairoba Temple are also famous over here.

We had a few guests from Japan, England and my brother came across from Israel and they all needed to be looked after. But everything went smooth and we had a marvelous day with a nice ceremony and an enjoyable party with good food and drinks in a quiet and pleasant relaxed atmosphere.For those who are curious about our weddingpictures I have to disappoint you. I'm not going to post pictures from our wedding on this photoblog. Not that they are not worth seeing, but because N. and my mother in law doesn't like it when their pictures are shown to everybody on the internet. They are located closer to the centre of town then the Barzan Towers, one by the mosque and the other opposite within a larger complex of houses.Neither of them allow visitors to enter; the first is falling apart while the second appears, from the satellite dishes that sprout from it, to appear to be still in use. The area around these forts is fascinating. On one side there is a plantation of dead palm trees,which looks like something out of a war-zone. One of the shows was the Melbs leg of the London Police vs Flying Fortress tour. Stoked to see these guys in action and got me some blackbook love too. I've been a fan of the London Police calligraphy characters for a while now but only recently found out they're actually done by a trio of guys based in Amsterdam.
