It designed to be a low-consumption, low-emissions luxury sedan, equipped Mercedes DiesOtto and hybrid technologies.DiesOtto is an advancement of the internal combustion engine thought up by Mercedes-Benz. With its novel controlled auto ignition (CAI), direct fuel injection and turbocharging, it combines the high power of the spark-ignition engine with the exemplary torque and great fuel economy of a diesel. The Solihull-based company yesterday gave a brief showing at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show of a 'baby Land Rover' which, if given the green light, could be rolling off the assembly lines in four years.A 32-second film showed the silhouette of the SUV, which will be smaller than the current Freelander or the Discovery, as it pulled out of a car park. It’s based on the new Laguna platform that’s already spawned a Laguna sedan. We are going to see the production version of the sedan in person for the first time in Frankfurt Auto Show 2007, and the Coupe Concept, which is also likely headed for production, will be right beside it. There’s no official press release from Renault yet, so we can’t tell you details like power and fuel economy numbers about this Laguna coupe concept, but we can comment on the car’s design.
