Spotted: 'Fringe' Observers in Chicago
2009-11-19 20:03:00 It's official: The "Fringe" Observers have arrived.Brian Pitts wrote to "Going Public" this morning to say he spotted "some of these guys near the Adams entrance from Union Station.""There were a number of Amtrak police officers outside too. I wonder if they were there in case people got nervous about who these serious-looking guys with bald heads in suits were. When I first saw them, I thought they were Secret Service or FBI because some celeb or political figure was coming out of Union Station," Pitts wrote. The Observers were scheduled to make three appearances today in Chicago including one on the Brown Line this morning.Later, Vicky Jenkins said she spotted Observers at the State of Illinois Building. She snapped this...

Gerald Moreno ? in the Sathya Sai Baba lunatic fringe
2009-10-02 22:36:00 Let us take a peep into the mind of Gerald Moreno, the fanatical believer in miracles and Sai Baba’s powers. After this intense seeking, he had what he believes to have been a physical visit across time and space by Sathya Sai Baba, during which he was unable to “move or scream”. ...
First Look: William Bell Returns to FRINGE
2009-09-23 05:02:00 If you were one of the many FRINGE fanatics who found the lack of William Bell and the lack of answers in last week’s season premiere, well illogical. Get ready for a double helping of both thanks to the October 8th episode entitled “Momentum Deferred,” which includes the return of Leonard Nimoy’s mysterious William Bell when flashbacks reveal more about Olivia’s visit to the alternate reality. More photos of which can be found after the jump.

We Interrogate FRINGE Star Lance Reddick
2009-09-17 21:54:00 Similar to that of his small screen alter ego, FRINGE star Lance Reddick is a man of few words and not surprisingly, fewer answers. What are FBI Agent Phillip Broyles true intentions this season? Where do his loyalties lie? And what’s it like on the other side? Well, these are just a few of the questions Reddick does his best to elude in this exclusive one-on-one with the TV Addict at this weekend’s FOX Fall Press Junket. Is this the season we finally learn where Agent Broyles loyalties lie? Lance Reddick: I’m not sure, but I can tell you episode six is basically a ‘Broyles episode,’ where we’ll find out more about his backstory, his relationship with his ex-wife and his relationship with Fringe Division prior to the current team. Will a closer look at Broyles backstory include some flashbacks that might flesh out the character’s motives? You’re not the first person to ask me that question. No flashbacks, but you’ll definitely le...

Freaky fun on 'Fringe;' 'Bones' getting stiff
2009-09-17 08:07:00 Fox kicks off its fall line-up for Thursdays on Sept. 17 with the season premieres of "Bones" and "Fringe," two of my personal favorites. Can you guess which premiere was a little disappointing? Watch the video sneak peeks and read below to find out....

Truly lunatic Sai Baba fringe + video link
2009-08-28 22:09:00 As I have pointed out before, the lunatic fringe in all its many rainbow colours is well over-represented among Sathya Sai Baba followers and defenders compared to the general population. Ask the Addict: Spoilers for GREEK, FRINGE, THE CLEVELAND SHOW & More!
2009-08-11 16:38:00 Question: For quite some time now you’ve been kind enough to provide your fellow TV Addicts with an incredibly useful calendar highlighting the month’s big TV events. Seriously, my cubicle at work is practically wallpapered with them and I really can’t thank you enough for your hard work. The only problem is that you totally dropped the ball when it came to August. Please explain yourself? — HookedonTVA The TV Addict: Truthfully, the TV Addict was on strike. And by that I mean, if the networks aren’t going to bother to program quality television in August, I certainly am not going to take time away from my FREAKS AND GEEKS marathon busy schedule to help promote the return of MILLIONAIRE on ABC. Plus, between Comic Con, my much-deserved vacation and the Television Critics Association Press Tour, I simply ran out of time. That said — here in a nutshell is everything you need to know for August: MONK and PSYCH returned to USA on August 7, MAD MEN returns t...

TCA Live Blog Day 4: FRINGE
2009-08-07 01:12:00 2:26PM: Those worries that FRINGE’s self-contained easy-to-follow episodic adventures are about to jump into mythology-heavy LOST territory, fear not. According to executive producer Jeff Pinkner, FRINGE is only going to tell the story of two universes — our own — and what the writer’s refer to internally as “over there.” Adding, “No time travel!” 2:27PM: “Leonard [Nimoy] will be back as much as he wants,” revealed Pinkner. That said, [Spoiler Alert!] having seen the the show’s second season premiere — we’ve got some bad news for you. Nimoy while alluded to, does not make an appearance in the premiere. 2:30PM: Did you know that the average television viewer only watches 3 to 4 episodes of a show per season. No really! Which is why season one seemed to re-set itself every three to four episodes. And also why co-creator/writer Alex Kurtzman promises that season 2 will have a more prominent mythology. But not to prominen...

Today’s TV Addict Top 5: FRINGE Season Two Spoilers
2009-08-06 20:14:00 1. While the first episode of FOX’s FRINGE opened with a plane-related incident involving a group of dead strangers, the second season begins with an automobile crash which while smaller in scope is larger in impact, especially where one of your favorite agents is concerned! 2. Fans will be relieved to discover that Olivia does, in fact, return from the alternate universe in which she last was seen. But of course, there’s a catch or two. For one thing, she returns with key pieces of her memory regarding the events that transpired there compromised. Worse, she’s not the only one to come through that mysterious doorway. 3. Don’t believe everything you read about Agent Charlie Francis — even if it was said by portrayer Kirk Acevedo, who posted on his Facebook page that he’d been fired. Or rather, do believe it. Kinda. Cryptic enough for you? 4. The season premiere is very newbie friendly thanks to the introduction of Agent Jessup (played by Meghan Markle), whose dialogu...

Ask the Addict: PRISON BREAK, GOSSIP GIRL, HIMYM, FRINGE & More!
2009-05-11 16:08:00 While I’m not ready to see PRISON BREAK come to an end this Friday, I am ready to find out what goes down. Please tell me that my favorite band of [prison] breakers do not end up right back where they started (read: prison) — LincLover The TV Addict: If I were to tell you that your favorite band of [prison] breakers don’t end up right back where they started…. well, I’d be lying. Because the fact of the matter is, at least one of your favorite Fox River inmates does in fact return from whence he came. But before you start to put your very own Michael Scofield strategy in motion in an effort to break he-or-they-who-shall-not-be-nam-ed out of prison (again!), you should probably take solace in the fact that things could end up a lot worse. After-all, Friday’s finale does offer up its fair share of shocking deaths, which we’re fairly certain is a far worse fate than five-to-ten in Fox River, right? So excited to meet young Lily Rhodes on tonight&rs...

Exclusive First Look: FRINGE Beams Down Leonard Nimoy
2009-04-30 01:28:00 Even though it’s essentially a fate accompli that FOX will renew FRINGE for a second season, credit must go to J.J. Abrams for not taking any chances. As evidence by the inspired casting choice of Leonard Nimoy to play the mysterious and enigmatic founder of Massive Dynamics, William Bell, in FRINGE’s May 12 finale (and beyond). “He [Nimoy] plays William in a way that’s kind of unexpected,” revealed FRINGE executive producer Jeff Pinkner at last week’s Paley Festival Panel honoring the show. “And you go, ‘Oh my God, I now see why these two men were simpatico, were like minded, even though one went into an insane asylum and one went on to be one of the richest men in America.’ Maybe there’s something to that.”

Why Casting Leonard Nimoy on FRINGE is Highly Illogical
2009-04-09 17:39:00 Putting aside the welcome ratings bump that FOX will undoubtedly see when Leonard Nimoy makes his first appearance of what is said to be a multi-episode arc on the May 12th finale of FRINGE, this TV Addict can’t help but feel that the casting of Leonard Nimoy as the mysterious William Bell is, well… highly illogical. Especially after one factors in Michael Ausiello’s recent scoop that, “Nimoy’s character’s arc was significantly cut back to accommodate Nimoy, who was only interested in doing a handful of episodes.” After a season of patiently waiting to discover the identity of the man behind Massive Dynamics, not to mention the reason Walter may-or-may-not-have spent the past seventeen years in a mental institution, the story of William Bell should not be contingent of Nimoy’s schedule and his apparent lack of excitement with regards to being tied down to series television. In short, FRINGE fanatics deserve better. They deserve a r...

FRINGE Recap: The Good, the Bad & the Ugly
2009-04-08 19:55:00 The Good: With the mysterious serial killer known only as “the Artist” providing FRINGE fanatics with genuine Silence of the Lambs inspired fears, and Olivia Dunham’s emotional connection to a mysterious folic-ally challenged child delivering the tears, last night’s installment of FRINGE was far and away our favorite episode of the series thus far. The Bad: Josh Jackson’s Peter Bishop was relegated to mere comic relief, adding virtually nothing to the episode outside of the occasional eye-brow raise and off-the-cuff one liner in reaction to Walter’s antics. That, and the decision to cast Erik Palladino as the child welfare case worker/CIA operative took away from the suspense a bit — because let’s face it, there is no way the actor best known (at least to this TV Addict) as the smarmy Dr. Dave Malucci on ER was going to be playing a nice guy. The Ugly: The fact that many fans missed a killer of an ending as a result of AMERICAN IDOL runni...

FRINGE Returns Tonight, Here’s Why You Should Too
2009-04-07 16:25:00 FYI: This post isn’t simply another excuse to share our photo with J.J. Abrams from September’s FRINGE premiere party in New York City! A Ph.D in FRINGE-ology is NOT a prerequisite for enjoying this show Now we know what you’re thinking: Does not having a name like J.J. Abrams above the title virtually mean that if you haven’t watched every single frame of every single episode (twice!) you will be well, lost. Well, think of FRINGE as the anti-LOST, with virtually every episode featuring a self-contained mystery that will almost always be solved by episodes end courtesy of a brilliant (and some might say crazy) team of FBI investigators lead by Olivia Dunham, the father-son duo of Walter and Peter Bishop and the painfully underutilized Astrid Farnsworth. Oh and on the off chance you do happen to be confused by the mythology sprinkled in (or as J.J. Abrams likes to call it, “the icing on the cake”) that mentions a “pattern,” an “o...

Watch Skins and Fringe Online
2009-03-16 21:32:00 Skins is a new serial which follows group of teenagers as they grow up. This serial has many interesting charecters like Effy (Tony's sister) and others. This serial won Best Drama prize in 2008 and Best Production Design. Filming of the third series began on 23 July 2008. The first part of episode one has been available for viewing on the E4 website since January. Trailers began across the Channel 4 family of channels on January, showing cast creating havoc in a pub. So don't wait watch skins . Another great show is Fringe. It's a science fiction television series created by J. J. Abrams. The show follows an FBI Fringe Division Olivia Dunham located in Boston. Unlike his other series Lost, J.J. Abrams told that series's story will be easier to follow. All over the world, a series of apparent experiments referred to as "the Pattern" are occurring for unknown reasons . Olivia, Peter, and Walter are in charge of investigating these events. Connected to the Pattern is Massive Dyna...
New York Comic Con 2009: Unlocking the Mystery that is FRINGE
2009-02-10 19:45:00 After saving the Mighty Ducks from the jaws of defeat on more than one occasion it should come as no surprise that it was up to the quick-witted and hilarious Josh Jackson to save the cast of FRINGE from what could have been a painfully awkward Comic Con panel thanks to some wonky microphones and one seriously inexperienced moderator. The following are some of the highlights: Mistaken Identity According to our calculations, it took less than a minute into the FRINGE panel for some fan to yell out “Mighty Ducks!” Re-enforcing our belief that the artist formerly known as Pacey Whitter to some will have to live with the fact that “Triple-deke” may very-well be etched on his tombstone. Well, that or “Quack, Quack, Quack.” Josh Jackson: He’s just like us! And by “just like us” we naturally mean that Josh Jackson outed himself as a massive fanboy. “I’m such a nerd, I’m an actor with a flow chart,” said Jackson, ...

John Noble Shares FRINGE Secrets
2008-11-18 20:32:00 As critics and fans use up valuable bits and bytes debating the finer points of J.J. Abrams latest hit show FRINGE, one pattern has become abundantly clear. Everybody loves Walter. Which is why this TV Addict was thrilled to have the opportunity to take part in a conference call with actor John Noble, the latest in a long line of Aussie imports who have taken American by storm. See if you can sense a pattern in our line of questions. Do you know what “The Pattern” is? John Noble: Do you know, we don’t know. I don’t know what “The Pattern” is. Walter doesn’t, and that kind of works okay for me. I don’t particularly want to know what’s going on in terms of the writers’ minds. Walter is definitely one of the season’s most well received new characters. Can you talk a little bit about how you approach the part and how much fun it is to play? It’s as much fun as it looks like. I mean Walter is an absolute hoot to play. It’s obviously g...

FRINGE & 90210 Make this TV Addict Go “Hmmm”
2008-09-24 18:01:00 On the surface, one wouldn’t think that J.J. Abrams mystery box known as FRINGE and the teen-centric melodrama that is 90210 would have a lot in common. But upon closer examination, it turns out that last night’s installment of both hit shows share one major characteristic — questions. Five of which theTVaddict.com is posing to you, our far smarter and better looking readers. 1) What illicits more of an “Ewww” factor — the brain surgery surrounding last night’s central mystery on FRINGE or the fact that Dixon Mills was all too happy to provide ‘protection’ for his sister Annie? 2) Which actor is getting more of the shaft in the writing department — the adorable Jasika Nicole [Agent Astrid Farnsworth], who four episodes in, still remains completely devoid of personality. Or 90210’s Cindy Walsh re-incarnate Debbie Wilson [Lori Loughlin]. Who has been given so little to do that this TV Addict had to look up her character’s fi...

Good News, Bad News: TRUE BLOOD, MOONLIGHT & FRINGE

And how are those projects going… oh wait… [Source] Good News: In related Vampire news, MOONLIGHT fans will finally get something exciting to sink their teeth into. Bad News: It’s not a second season. Rather the announcement of a DVD release, which let’s face it, effectively puts a final nail into any and all hope for a second season. 5 Reasons to Tune into FRINGE Tonight
2008-09-09 21:20:00 The TV Addict & J.J. Abrams at the FRINGE Premiere Party in New York 1. THE TV ADDICT HEARTS J.J. ABRAMS: J.J. Abrams gave the TV Addict a cupcake. A scrumptious chocolate cupcake. No really. As a mea culpa for arriving thirty minutes late to New York’s Gansevoort hotel, where Abrams, alongside fellow FRINGE co-creators Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Executive Producers Bryan Burk and Jeff Pinkner were kind enough to take the time to talk up their new series [premiering tonight at 8PM on FOX], Abrams brought cupcakes from New York’s famed Magnolia Bakery. So not only is Abrams the genius behind one of my all-time favorite shows — ALIAS. He helped co-create LOST and FELICITY, is currently putting the final touches on a little movie you might have heard of called STAR TREK and gave me a cupcake! Which I’ll soon be auctioning off on eBay… [kidding!] 2. FRINGE HAS AN ACTUAL PLANNED OUT END GAME: Rest assured frustrated AAA fans, that’s ALIAS ADDICTS...

Couch Tater Reviews FRINGE
2008-09-09 16:50:00 By the end of FRINGE’s pilot — airing tonight at 9 p.m. ET on FOX — you’ll be asking, “What the hell went wrong?” Sadly, you’ll be talking about the show itself as opposed to the central mystery involving the decomposed bodies found aboard a doomed flight. While the opening sequence is exciting, anyone who’s seen the ads — and who hasn’t? — knows the fate of Flight 627 and those on board. Unfortunately, while the grounding of LOST’s Oceanic Flight 815 set into motion a series of unforgettable and gripping events, FRINGE’s doomed airliner goes from intriguing to predictable upon landing. While the plot zips along at a breakneck pace, one quickly realizes that’s due to an fervent hope that viewers won’t notice that the road they’re traversing was cobbled together with characters and scenes stolen from a million better offerings. Exclusive Interview: FRINGE Star Lance Reddick
2008-08-22 16:56:00 The TV Addict and Lance Reddick in Los Angeles, August 2008 Let me start of by saying that you play two of television’s most mysterious characters. From LOST to FRINGE I have absolutely no idea what you are up to! Do you? Lance Reddick: In LOST I can definitely say I have no idea! Do you get that type of reaction a lot? A fair amount. I have to admit that not that many people have stopped me about LOST, especially after coming off the last and biggest season of THE WIRE. I get stopped for that a lot more. Thanks to the critical acclaim of THE WIRE and your guest spot on LOST did you even have to audition for your role on FRINGE? That was the funny thing about FRINGE. I didn’t have to audition for LOST, but with FRINGE I actually auditioned for a different role. Which role? Actually when I first read the script the role I thought I was most right for was Broyles. But when I went to audition they had me read for Charlie. So I didn’t hear anything and a month later I ...

Fringe looks like the must watch show of the fall
2008-08-01 09:19:00 Besides The CW’s 90210, the most talked about show for the upcoming fall season is Fringe!!! Just by watching that promo it is to see why. Seriously how suspenseful does that show look. I was kind of afraid to pick up another J.J. Abrams show after all the twist and turns with Lost that just ...
Fringe: rinasce X-Files versione 2.0 firmata JJ Abrams.
Dan and His Lunatic Fringe
2008-07-14 17:44:00 He doesn't appear to be backing down. He mentioned quite some time ago that he was going to do this. Quite some time ago, it was safe to boast of this as quite some time should pass and our memories would fail us. Yet he has reminded us of his claims, an ever present gnat buzzing always just beyond the swatter. At times, his voice has been soft, like a whisper. Other times, loud and booming. He just couldn't let it go. And now, the time has come. It is as they say time to put up or shut up. I think a more commonly known allegorical reference may have something to do with moving one's bowels or vacating the porcelain seat but since this is a family friendly place, I shan't make such references.Dan and his mates, ten of them I believe, maybe just seven. Could be just Dan. I'm not really sure who has committed but they all should be committed for even suggesting such lunacy. You see, Dan and his mates are about to e...

The TV Addict Takes A Stand By Not Downloading FRINGE
2008-06-23 09:48:00 The reviews are in. FRINGE is officially the must see new show of the fall. In fact, with over two months until the series’ September 9th premiere on FOX, Televisionary has already proclaimed that FRINGE is, “THE X-FILES for the new millennium.” With Ramblings of a TV Whore’s Rae chiming in via Twitter that, “I’m so in love with FRINGE that the thought of it makes me smile at random moments throughout the day.” Heck, even frequent TV Addict reader Tim G. reported via text message that “627 is the new 815!” But since I have yet to go the BitTorrent route and download the ‘leaked’ pilot, I’m going to have to take his word for it. You see, this TV Addict is taking a stand. (more…)

FOX's "Fringe" Review
2008-06-19 20:05:00 This show needs to be seen by every person on the planet. I say that because I don't want it to join the long list of shows killed off by FOX. Fringe will be a hit for the fall lineup no doubt in my mind. This show is something no network has done I think before. Creating a show about fringe science usually would be a show/movie on the sci-fi network. Let me say now SCI-FI is fox fails BUY THIS SHOW. The action, and story is so well played out in the pilot. Normally pilots can bore you giving you a background about the characters. This show hits you like the first Saw movie. It goes right into it without a back story. Among all the craziness this show offers, and will offer the suttle humor here, and there makes you actually laugh. This show should be a huge hit in my opinion. Considering the network I say they should offer it to someone else. I only diss FOX because of their history. That actually hurts all new shows. Who's going to want to watch a show knowing FOX will kill it i...

Fringe
