This slideshow feature has been seen in numerous premium themes as of late and now you can create one for yourself via this tutorial. A slideshow is great for showcasing images within a gallery or showing off images related to top news items on your blog. The tutorial is not meant for beginners, but those of you who understand terms such as The Loop, excerpt and permalink, you should be fine. I don't really follow Microsoft stories except the days when it tried to buy out Yahoo. Today I remember Frontpage 2003, the last version I know. Last night I downloaded a free website template at HostGator, where some of my websites are hosted, and according to the instruction, I may edit the web template using Frontpage 2003. However, I no longer need Frontpage. I can edit the template using Dreamweaver. And then I went to Microsoft and inquired what had happened to Frontpage. Expression Web v2 b1 versus FrontPage 2003
2008-03-09 21:54:00 In my initial testing, I quickly found wrong in both Expression Web v1 and v2. Note how the frame below renders in the editor. The image above is Expression Web v2 - and it's the same in v2. The image below it is the same frame under FrontPage 2003. Note that it shows correctly (truly WYSIWYG). The item in question is a table of three rows and several columns. The middle row is only 1 pixel tall. This is suppossed to be the yellow line down the middle of a highway ("driving", get it?). The gearshift knob is an overlay the the upper left corner. That may be effecting how Expression Web presents the editting window. Note that the site does show the page properly in IE 7 or 8, and any of those "other" browsers too.

There are a number of challenges to be met in getting KIXE's site up to standards. There's the usual content rescue wherein I have to find all of the actually useful content and extract it from the coding nightmare that it's currently buried in. Making Frontpage News in Norway
2006-11-14 11:38:00 A story partly based on a recent piece on Borat and Kazakhstan published on this weblog, today made the frontpage of the Norwegian daily Aftenposten - Norway's second largest newspaper with a circulation of about 300,000 copies.The real argument of the Aftenposten story is that the comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has to periodically invent new role characters. Once roles such as Ali G or now Borat become publicly known, Cohen can no longer use them, as people know that their legs are being pulled. The absurd and very politically incorrect ideas that he expresses, provoke either support or confusion, but very seldom dissent. Politicians, businessmen or ordinary people are thus made out as fools or spineless.As for the Aftenposten story, it ends with the argument on this blog, that Borat may actually be doing Kazakhstan a favour, by belittlement of problems with the oppressive and corrupt Nazarbayev regime. However, to get back into the swing of things, I bring you the KIXE redesign. I have maintained the KIXE website (such as it is) for several years now with a complete redesign always pending but never approved. It's horrible design and coding has always been a thorn in my side and, with the launch of their new logo and look, I've finally gotten the go-ahead. KIXE is a small-market station based in Redding, California and serving an incredibly huge geographic area covering most of the northern end of the state–ten counties in all. This area runs the gamut from rural to mountainous to desert to farmland to just plain sparsely populated.
