Swimming With Sharks-Steve Casimiro Style
2008-05-17 08:16:00
The first time you swim with sharks should be dramatic. There should be storm-tossed seas, fang-like Farallon Islands jutting from the water, hungry great whites thrashing as the first mate chums stinky fish guts overboard. You?re shivering into your cold chain mail shark suit as the grizzled sea dog captain growls, ?Arr! Don?t be a-worryin?, lad! I?ve only lost three ...
Galapagos Islands & Machu Picchu - LatinAmerica4less
2008-04-21 19:10:00
Jay and I recently returned from our trip to Galapagos and Machu Picchu and we both agree it is one of the very best trips we have ever taken. We had NO problems, even the weather cooperated. The guides, from both Kelin and Pacifico, were friendly and always on time and we enjoyed each tour immensely. Thank you so much for arranging such a wonderful vacation for us. Donna B. PS. There is only one thing we would have changed in hind sight and that is less time in Lima and more in Galapagos. If we had to be in Lima for two days I would definitely have included a tour in the price on one of those days. We did find things to do but we are not really much into city life. We would be glad to fill out a reference form or whatever your company might need or like from us. Share! Share

TORTUGA BAY - THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS -Tortuga Bay is very well known among tourists, a beautiful beach of fine white sand surrounded by a mysterious forest, volcanic rocks and the view is overwhelming. Finches, yellow warblers, mockingbirds, lava lizards…will take you to the time when the adventurers and pirates of the XVII and XIX century visited these enchanted islands.Once you reach Tortuga Bay, you walk into what seems an infinite and desolate beach of white sand encountering marine iguanas on their way out of the water. Sites as lava tunnels, the twin craters, tortoises in their natural environment, the grottos (crevasses with refreshing swimming water), Garrapatero beach will sure make your trip to the Galapagos an unforgettable journey.Night Life in the Galapagos Islands Pueto Ayora is a quiet, safe, tourist friendly town. Well, its location is something that many of our tourists ask, it is 600 miles West off the Ecuadorian Coast so you will definitely have to fly there. Two main airports serve local airlines in the Island of Baltra and in San Cristobal Island. The price of the roundtrip flight for foreigners is aboout 410.00 US dollars from Quito and 360.00 US dollars from Guayaquil. The Marine Reserve The Interior waters of the Islands, plus those within 40 nautical miles measured from the baseline of the Archipielago, were declared the Galapagos Marine Reserve on 1994. This is the only protected coastal marine area in the East Pacific and the second largest Marine Reserve in the World. There are many areas with small submarine volcanoes, which are important feeding zones for marine birds and mammals. Snorkeling with sea lions, penguins and a variety of colorful fish an...

In 1835 Charles Darwin sailed on the British Ship H.M.S. Beagle and visited the Islands and what he found in this unique volcanic archipielago inspired his theory of the origin of the species, which shook up the entire scientific word. All of you who choose to make this unforgettable trip can begin to wonder about ...
The Galapagos Islands Part1

The Galapagos Islands is an Archipelago with evolutionary changes, its fauna different from elsewhere around the globe makes us wonder about their existence. Among these animals are the “Galapagos” giant tortoises that gave the Islands their name due to the similarity of their carapaces to a British riding saddle called “galapago’ in Spanish. The Galapagos Islands are legendary. We have all heard of Darwin and his theory of evolution. Well it was refined while he was at the Galapagos. The amount of wildlife is endless and you will be able to get closer to wildlife here than almost anywhere else you can go. Getting There You have to fly. The flight from Quito, Ecuador costs $400US with a connection in Guayaquil. I flew into San Cristobal, only because the main airport in Santa Cruz.... - 0 Comments
