Gary Moore: full Live CD and DVD details
2011-09-08 21:03:00 GARY MOORE LIVE AT MONTREUX 2010 *FEATURING THREE BRAND NEW SONGS* ~ON CD, DVD, AND BLU-RAY SEPTEMBER 20~ Eagle Rock Entertainment will release, on September 20, the very last live performance in the life of acclaimed guitarist/singer/songwriter Gary Moore. Live At Montreux 2010 strikingly shows a major return-to-rock for the musician who spent years exploring the blues. In fact, in the last days of his life, Moore, who died on February 6 of this year, was working on a new rock album What makes this release so compelling is the inclusion of three never-before-released gems, ?Days Of Heroes,? ?Where Are You Now? and ?Oh Wild One,? that he previewed for the Montreux audience and had fully intended to put on the album he was writing and recording at the time. The rest of the set is heavy on the 1980s rock he pioneered solo, as well as his late 60s/70s work with Phil Lynott in Thin Lizzy and Skid Row. And, of course, some blues. Gary Moore was born in 1952 Belfast, Ireland. Heavily in...

Gary Moore: Guitar Players last interview
2011-02-16 00:11:00 PLENTY OF GUITARISTS HAVE RECEIVED more acclaim in the rock arena than Gary Moore. Others have gotten more nods from headbangers. And certainly there are bluesmen with more cachet than Moore. But good luck finding a single guitarist who has garnered the kind of critical acclaim and commercial success that the Belfast, Ireland, native has had in all three genres. While still a teen, Moore caught the eye of Fleetwood Mac guitarist Peter Green. Besides becoming a seminal influence on the young guitarist, the fellow Irishman helped Moore?s then-band Skid Row (no relation to the ?80s hair metal band) seal a record deal. He also sold Moore his famed ?out-of-phase? ?59 Gibson Les Paul that would become his main guitar for years to come. Shortly thereafter, Moore?s eclectic side emerged. He started his own trio?taking up vocal duties in the process?before serving several stints with Thin Lizzy, appearing on an album by classical composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, and adding licks to projects b...

2011-02-13 21:23:00 Dazzling sunshine bathes the terrace where the guests take breakfast in one of Andalucia's most luxurious hotels. The mountains of Africa shimmer on the horizon across a postcard-blue Mediterranean. The well heeled clientèle of the five-star Kempinski resort on the Costa del Sol are enjoying the luxury of dining al fresco in the second week of February. But one guest seems utterly at odds with the picture of leisurely indolence. Petra Nioduschewski sits alone. Her head is bowed, as she clutches a mobile phone to her ear, her face pallid and her eyes red-raw. The statuesque blonde never walks the nearby beach or uses the hotel spa or its three outdoor swimming pools... Despite having an estimated ?23million income from his two London-based companies, Moore was only giving himself a yearly wage of ?44,000 at the time of his death - ?15,800 from Bonuswise and ?28,200 from Orionstar, from a combined annual turnover of ?1.76million. His guitar collection, including his cherished Les P...

Gary Moore: Gibson Remembers Gary Moore
2011-02-07 23:08:00 The rock world lost one of its great performers yesterday with the passing of guitar legend Gary Moore. Moore died while on vacation in the town of Estepona in the Costa del Sol region of southern Spain. He was 58 years old. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Moore first made his mark in the hard rock band, Skid Row (not to be confused with the later band). Inspired by the fiery blues playing of Albert King, Jimi Hendrix and Peter Green (who took Moore under his wing when the young Irishman was breaking in), Moore combined the feel and subtlety of the finest blues players with the speed and intensity of hard rock?s heaviest hitters. more

Sam Coulson: super tribute to Gary Moore
2011-02-07 18:52:00 Sam Coulson: I was utterly shocked and saddened to learn of Gary's untimely death today. The world has been deprived of one of the most amazing guitarists. My thoughts are with Gary's family and friends at this sad time. I wanted to show my respect and appreciation for this giant of blues and rock by doing some unrehearsed improv straight from my heart. Gary influence on my playing is huge, I have long admired his ability to control his left hand vibrato in the most soulful way. Also his control over the instruments pots changed the way I look at the guitar. Not to mention his mind boggling flurys of pentatonic notes! It's safe to say Gary Moore was a guitar giant and I am deeply saddened that he is no longer with us. Gary Moore Tribute

Gary Moore: One Night In Dublin: A Tribute To Phil Lynott
2011-01-17 22:13:00 For more info -http://www.eagle-rock.com/arti-st/7A8A... On 20 August 2005, on what would have been his 56th birthday, a statue of Phil Lynott was unveiled in Dublin's Grafton Street by his mother. There to witness the event were members of Thin Lizzy from throughout the band's career. Later that evening they joined forces under the leadership of Gary Moore for a concert that paid tribute to Phil Lynott's memory. The core band of Moore, Jethro Tull bass player Jonathan Noyce and Thin Lizzy's one and only drummer Brian Downey were joined by the stellar guitar talents of Brian Robertson, Scott Gorham and Eric Bell for a set of Lizzy and Gary Moore classics.Gary Moore - Parisenne Walkway (From "One Night In Dublin: A Tribute To Phil Lynott")
