When Geeks Fall in Love - they Do Geeky Things!
2008-04-16 18:26:00 I heard this story on the radio today, and thought it was quite funny. Some guy named Bernie Peng, spent an entire month reprogramming his girlfriend’s favorite game (Bejewelled). When she reached a certain point level it showed a special wedding proposal screen and a ring. Awestruck at what he’d done she of course said yes. Popcap the makers of the game were impressed by this love story and as a wedding present flew the lovebirds to Seattle, for their honeymoon, where I’m betting there was quite a bit of Dungeons and Dragons to be had. Not only that Popcap also gave away 250 free games to those at the Wedding Reception, pretty nice huh?! 10 stunning ultra-geeky home cinemas
2008-01-28 09:55:00 As time goes by there seems to be a growing trend amongst those people lucky enough to afford it / mental enough to spend all available cash on it: home cinemas. huge screens, incredible sound systems and luxurious seats are popping up in seemingly spare rooms and basements larger than my entire flat. however this is also giving a few movie geeks a real chance to shine and it seems they?re not content with a simple in-home movie theatre decent enough to hold a premiere in - they clearly want to be fully immersed in the worlds created by their favourite films. so, in no particular order, here are 10 of the best themed home cinemas on earth?

Top 10 Websites For Geeky Kids
2008-01-20 20:47:00 Though my kids have yet to do anything with my computer other than rip off the shift keys, I do try to keep my eye out for cool sites for children. I actually write for a few, so I make a mental note whenever I see something interesting. Mind you, this list is far from exhaustive and I urge you to suggest more below, but these are my picks for the top 10 Websites for geeky kids. BrainPOP - This is actually an educational site, but your geeklings won't ever notice. The award-winning games and fun, animated videos make this a popular choice with school teachers and homeschooling parents. In fact, many parents prepare their children for standardized tests by using BrainPOP. NASA Kids' Club - There's something romantic about space, which is why many of us probably wanted to become astronauts when we were kids. I think a child's interest in astronomy should be heartily encouraged, which is why NASA Kids' Club is high on my list. Here, kids will have access to amazing photographs, ...

Unique watch design with Nooka Zub Zot Watches
2008-01-16 21:51:00 I found this for me totally unique watch design on the net. The Nooka Zub Zot Watch looks at first like some kind of difficult portable puzzle. But the Nooka Zub Zot really displays the time, although in a new kind of way. After some guidance you´ll understand how it works. The dots represent the hours, the bar below represent the minutes and seconds and dates are displayed digitally. I like the fact that it keeps your head alert even in the morning hours with a few beers in your belt. It makes you think for a while and relearn. And it has a totally cool and a bit of a geeky look as well. I Like it!

The people of the Philippines, known as Filipinos, are best known for their overseas service as cafeteria personnel, mini-mart clerks, hotel maids, and transvestite prostitutes in countries around the world. The Philippines itself is a hotspot for sex tourism and pedophilia, as well as for a few AZN ?al Qaeda? wannabes who have ?taken over? some small villages on one of the islands. After dropping anchor near a scenic beach on the main island and going ashore for a look around, Magellan and his crew were surprised not to find any other humans. There were, however, great numbers of a curious and friendly ape species, which followed the explorers in their sight-seeing tour around the island. By the end of the first day, when Magellan and his men established a campsite and prepared for bed, quite a few of the female apes indicated a desire to cuddle under the covers with the men.Naturally, these advances met with a mixed reception. For more info 'bout the online encyclopedia, here's the link!PhilippinesLanguageThe language of the Philippines is called Tagalog. Linguistically, Tagalog is a blend of the ancestral ape noises, Spanish and English. The typical Tagalog conversation sounds like barnyard chickens talking, with bits of European language mixed in for flavor. It is because of this ?chicken? aspect that Tagalog is also known as ?Buk-buk.? Indeed, sometimes the Filipinos themselves are known as ?Buk-buks? or even ?Book-books." Philippine media, newspapers, television and even Philippine Wikipedia use this bizarre combination in an attempt to convey meaning. As employees, Filipinos are required to learn and use only the language of the host country, as use of the Tagalog language frequently irritates local dogs and cats, who switch into hunt...

Thursday Thirteen #28 - Geeky Tips
2008-01-10 01:25:00 Since I'm solely a Windows user at home and at work, these tips are heavily Windows-centric. Still, these are ones that I swear by and you may not know of.If you don't have voice notes on your phone, or even if you do, use Jott to have your voice notes transcribed to an email to yourself (or even a blog or twitter post). In Microsoft Word, if you double-click the Format Painter toolbar button, it stays on and you can format paint to your heart's delight. On a windows computer, use the Windows-e key to bring up Windows Explorer. You can also use Windows-r for the Run command, Windows-m to minimize all windows and Windows-M to maximize. There are others, but those are the main ones I use.Use the Back button on the mouse. On a mouse that has more than three buttons (left, right, scroll wheel), it is usually a button near your thumb. My Logitech wireless mouse actually uses push left and right on the scroll wheel as extra buttons, so I program those to be Back and Forward (Alt-Left ...
