2008-07-08 01:37:00
A great pleasure! I have just received my copy of the recently reprinted Geneva Bible, the translation that the Pilgrim Fathers mainly used. The Geneva Bible was the popular version in the English-speaking world until the “official” King James Bible gradually supplanted it. I bought my copy via World Net Daily and it cost ...

New Painted Ponies Of Lake Geneva
2008-06-04 14:43:00
This is a little video clip that my Darling Husband helped me put together. These ponies were given to local artistst to paint and be on display in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and will be auctioned off after four months of display. All proceeds to go to S.M.I.L.E.S., an organization that uses horses to help disabled children and adults. Here's a link to an article written about it, Painted Ponies To Populate Lake Geneva. I will put the video up on my sidebar soon. I've only got a few pictures, but I believe there are about eighty of them, all of which are very nicely done.S.M.I.L.E.S. stands for Special Methods In Learning Equine Skills. I know I've written about this once before, asking if any of you have a program like this in your area. I think it's pretty cool. Here is the link S.M.I.L.E.S.. A very neat place and an awesome idea in my opinion. Please visit http://midwesthorse.blogspot.co-m/index.html for more horse stories, information and resources.
La Reserve, Lake Geneva
2008-05-30 05:17:00
Getting to La Reserve is super easy from London, as long as you use the Swiss service from City Airport to Geneva. Thank Heavens for London City Airport on a Bank Holiday weekend - no Heathrow, no desperate lines at security, no long queue to get on the plane. Once you land and get through passport control (with typical Swiss efficiency), it’s only a ten minute taxi ride before you are pulling into the gates of La Reserve. As you can see from the picture above, the building isn’t going to win any architectural awards, but once you get inside, this is one luxurious resort.

The Bush Team's Geneva Hypocrisy
2008-04-26 08:18:00
by Jason Leopold Newly released U.S. government documents, detailing how Bush administration officials punched legalistic holes in the Geneva Convention’s protections of war captives, stand in stark contrast to the outrage some of the same officials expressed in the first week of the Iraq War when Iraqi TV interviewed several captured American soldiers. Then, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, President George W. Bush and other administration officials orchestrated a chorus of outrage, citing those TV scenes as proof of the Iraq’s government contempt for international law in general and the Geneva Convention in particular. “It is a blatant violation of the Geneva Convention to humiliate and abuse prisoners of war or to harm them in any way. As President Bush said yesterday, those who harm POWs will be found and punished as war criminals,” Pentagon spokeswoman Victoria Clarke said on March 24, 2003. That same day, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz told the BBC th...

North Korea Nutshell: What Starts in Geneva Ends in Singapore
2008-04-14 20:34:00
A few weeks ago, I wrote about a meeting between the U.S. and the North Korean negotiators in Geneva to discuss a resolution to the impasse over the declaration of North Korean nuclear activity. That meeting ended with no announcements on progress other than a vague announcement of ?good discussions.? This past week, the two parties met again, this time in Singapore, and it seems that a resolution is finally beginning to take shape. Experts believe that the U.S. floated the idea that the parties would use a diplomatic device similar to the joint U.S.-China ?Shanghai Communiqué? used during... [This is a content summary only. Geneva 2008: Mazda2 loses a couple of doors, gets even cooler
2008-04-09 08:31:00
Filed under: Geneva Motor Show, Hatchbacks, Mazda Click above for a high-res gallery of the Mazda2 three-door. After serenading us with the indie sounds of an obscure band from Europe, Mazda pulled the covers off the new Mazda2 three-door, the next obvious evolution of Mazda’s compact offerings. What the squat hatch lacks in presence it makes up for with an aggressive wedge shape, a swooping beltline and a well-proportion rump. While Mazda hyped some of the sporting pretenses of the ‘lil hatch, the automaker also focused on it low coefficient of drag (0.31) and it’s minuscule emissions. Power is provided by either a MZR 1.3-liter four-cylinder producing 75 hp, the “High-Power” version that shovels out 86 hp or the 1.5-liter four which makes 103 hp. All models are sold with a five-speed manual transmission, including the 1.4-liter MZ-CD diesel. All the details are available in the press release after the jump and check the gallery below for a host of liv...

Geneva : Courtesans In The Dining Room
2008-03-14 11:22:00
Geneva, Switzerland: A well orchestrated dinner-party of four carefully chosen high end independent courtesans and international business men. 'Kathleen, what makes a great artist in your opinion?', enquired the investment banker between mouthfuls of Wild Mushroom and Asparagus Risotto. 'Oh, what cultivated rubbish!', cried the English sailor passionately without allowing the Ebony Courtesan to respond. 'My goodness, what a violent attack!', cried the exclusive Geneva courtesan on her way to the smoking room. 'Would you rather be at a brothel in Germany surrounded by dancing call girls?', retorted the tall Paris elite courtesan who was deliciously tipsy from the sublime French wine. 'Those who know don't speak', replied the sailor with a devilish gleam in his eyes. 'Shame on you, depriving us of such splendid fun!', exclaimed the international Ebony Courtesan in a dark and melodious voice.Independent Courtesan,Kathleen Glydefeeds.feedburner.com/blogs-pot/kddv
