Stephon Tuitt de-commits from Georgia Tech, re-commits to Notre Dame...one
2011-01-20 06:55:00
Well, this is just getting ridiculous. per Brian Hamilton of the Chicago Tribune After de-committing from Notre Dame on Tuesday to switch to Georgia Tech, and having his high school coach release a terse statement of "This is it for Stephon. He won't be taking visits nor having coaches over to his house unless it is a Georgia Tech coach," mega-prospect Stephon Tuitt has switched his commitment back to the Irish..... ....orally.... ....without signing anything... ...with two weeks still till signing day... ...just sayin'... Tuitt himself went on the record this time, and made it sound a lot like some uh....issues were raised to him about Notre Dame....and now they've been cleared up after a meeting with Brian Kelly and Bob Diaco.
Stephon Tuitt de-commits and goes to Georgia Tech
2011-01-19 07:26:00
Wellllllllllllll, crapsticks. If there's a surefire way to remind us all to not count the stars on the recruit list before National Signing Day, perhaps the jewel of the 2011 Notre Dame recruiting class de-commiting and flipping to Georgia Tech is it. The loss of Tuitt, a 270-lb DE from Georgia is somewhat blunted by the fact that the Irish have signed 1743 other pass-rushers this year, but he was the best one, and his size projected him to become a run-stopping interior lineman, putting a lot more emphasis on freshman Louis Nix to become something. Brian Smith said on Twitter that Nix is "gonna be our Nick Fairley" next season, and I can only pray that there are some limitations to that comparison. I could shamelessly speculate about Tuitt's motivations, with Georgia Tech being closer to his home being the most likely motivation, and him not being able to part himself from Waffle House being the least; but if Notre Dame was interested in Stephon, he's probably a bright young...
Three Thoughts - Northwestern vs. Georgia Tech
2010-12-01 05:21:00
You can read the extended version of my thoughts from the game by going back over the live-blog that is below this. It was a good time and I'm sure I'll be doing more of them this season. If you read it thanks!A 91-71 victory is pretty impressive, even against a team picked to finish 9th in the ACC. The Wildcats could've made this close, but instead Northwestern pounded Georgia Tech in the first half and was able to coast to victory. Here are some thoughts I took away from the game....

Bye-bye Boise (hello D.C.?)

Column by Patrick Hite patrick@accnation.com Most of the news coming out of the ACC’s spring meetings was expected — no 18-game schedule in basketball or 9-game schedule in football– but I thought the best news this week was that, after 2008, the ACC won’t be affiliated with the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho.
