Watching the shopkeepers open their stores, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and banana bread pouring out into the streets. Isla Mujeres has captivated our whole family from the moment we first got off of the ferry from Puerto Juarez. 2008-04-22 15:08:00 I had been to my favorite vacation place last March. My skin has just restored to its original color and yet that quick vacation was not enough for me. I’ve gone to the most visited tourists spots in Camiguin Island and yet I don’t feel fulfilled. I still have not experience my dream summer getaway. If only I had that enough budget for travel, I could have spent my summer vacation in Boracay or in a Virgin Island. I love the white sand, clear water, fresh air and mountainous green environment. I love the place where i could do my thing without any destruction, of course with my love one. I would love to sit back and relax with a small picnic time picnic basket under the tree on the top of the mountain. In summer it is really best to stay in some cool places to kill the hot summer and also have a good enjoyment. If you are to choose between beaches and hill stations, what will your choice be? For me I love both.

The Weekend Getaway
2008-04-16 20:32:00 Recently, our kids and grandkids decided that we all needed a weekend getaway! We found a state park with a wonderful old inn that was a short drive (less than 200 miles) for all the family to meet and the facilities were great for the entire crew. Pokagon State Park is at the intersection of I-69 and I-80/90 and is only about 3 hours from Wright Patterson AFB, OH, 3.5 hours from Great Lakes Naval Training Center,IL and 2.5 hours from Selfridge Air National Guard Base, MI.The park had hiking trails, a horse barn for saddle enthusiasts, an indoor pool to entertain the younger set, a game room with air hockey, ping pong, and video games, various restaurants and fun spots just to hang out. We actually found an outdoor porch on the second floor that with a quilt or two provided a lot of evening entertainment as well as we sat and overlooked Lake James.The weather wasn't very cooperative with a mix of rain, snow, wind, cloudy days and cool temps but hey some of us lived in Iceland f... |
