Pitt-Georgetown Recap
2009-01-05 15:08:00
Did you know that the Georgetown University had a 28-game winning streak at the Verizon Center? The key word of that sentence is "had" after Pitt?s impressive 70-54 win on Saturday. Here are my thoughts of the game from my view in Section 404.- When showed on the scoreboard, the national anthem singer looked like a frail, old man, who may not even make it through the song. Brown still wants to play for Packers
2007-07-14 17:03:00
Former Green Bay Packers nose tackle Gilbert Brown said Friday that he still wants to play for the team."I'm still hoping, but my time is running out," Brown told the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune. "You'd love to get another opportunity to go play and I've begged (Packers General Manager) Ted Thompson so many times to let me come back to play, it's like pulling teeth."According to reporter Kyle Means, "Brown's frame didn't look the 340 pounds the Packers last weighed him at before cutting him in 2004. In fact, the former anchor of Green Bay's defensive line says he's been ready to play in the National Football League again. Brown's last season was in 2003, when he started 14 of 16 games for a team that finished 10-6 and won the NFC North."Brown would face an uphill battle on a team that recently added first round draft pick Justin Harrell to its rotation. The Packers already have Ryan Pickett, Corey Williams, Colin Cole, Johnny Jolly, and Cullen Jenkins at the defensive ta...
