2007-12-04 19:53:00 The grade-school teacher who was jailed in Sudan for allowing her students to name a teddy bear Muhammad was met at London’s Heathrow Airport this morning by her son John and daughter Jessica. Gillian Gibbons was released a week early thanks to an intense British diplomatic effort led by two Muslim members of Britain’s House of ...

Sudanese Government Pardons British Teacher Over Teddy Bear / Muhammad Inci
2007-12-03 23:07:00 Well, I figured a pardon would wind up happening, so I wanted to wait until I posted so that I didn’t criticize the terroristsgovernment of Sudan too much (and no - me calling them terrorists has nothing to do with this incident and everything to do with the Darfur situation - if you doubt me on ...

Gillian Gibbons pardoned
2007-12-03 12:57:00 Teddybear jihad update. Gillian Gibbons has been pardoned by puppet dictator Omar al-Bashir, after the "mediation" by two Muslim peers from the British House of Lords. And just when you thought the farce couldn't get anymore ridiculous... Sudanese President Omar al-Beshir on Monday pardoned a British woman teacher jailed for 15 days for insulting religion and she will be released in an hour, a presidential advisor told AFP. "She was pardoned thanks to the mediation of Lord Ahmed and Baroness Warsi. She will be released in about an hour," Mahjoub Fadl Badri told AFP. Even someone like "Lord Ahmed" had to draw the line at supporting the Sudanese Muslims in this ugly case, especially since pretending to mediate with the Sudanese dictator was such an easy way for him to score some badly needed brownie points back home. Otherwise you never hear as much as a peep of condemnation out of him (or any other Muslim leader in Britain) whenever there is a major atrocity committed by devout Mu...

Travesty of Justice - Sudanese Caricature of the Islamic Law
2007-12-01 03:32:00 Sadly a majority of people practice double standards. They tend to judge others more harshly, but find excuses for their own failings. Collectively, other races, countries and religions are judged harshly, while we turn a blind eye to whatever we construe as our own. I suffer from a reverse malady. I am sad at injustice ...
Religion Of Peace: Calls in Sudan for Execution of British Teacher
2007-11-30 18:38:00 Everyone’s favorite religion of peace strikes again! Apparently 15 days in a Sudanese prison for calling a teddy bear “Muhammad” just isn’t enough to quell the growing Islamic rage in Sudan. Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of ...

Both Gillian Gibbons and Teddy Bear Should be hanged
2007-11-30 15:19:00 What have I been Saying All along? The Modern world and its citizens should not be cohabiting, teaching, visiting, meeting or coming into any contact with the primitive peoples of Africa, for God's Sake stop helping! I am sad to read that Mohamed teddy bear teacher, Gillian Gibbons, is spared lash but gets 15 days in jail. This light sentence will only encourage more do-gooders like Ms Gibbons to continue to come to Muslim countries where she and her kind will only further infuriate the locals with her wild and wicked Western ways (is that too alliterative?). A good Iranian-style hanging is what was really needed here. If these infidel idiots really want to help the world they should look in their own countries and educate and improve the lot of their own citizens before going to piss-holes like the Sudan. Want to know how Muslims thank the good-will and efforts of this teacher? A crowd of hundreds chanted for her death for insulting their religion. Over a stuffed-an...
Gillian Gibbons : British Teacher Charged for Naming a Teddy Bear Muhammad
2007-11-29 01:23:00 A lot of Muslims are named Muhammad. A lot of Christians are named Jesus, particularly in S. America. Aside from the fact that these are names associated with the founders of Islam and Christianity, the names themselves are fairly commonplace.Gillian Gibbons, a British teacher employed at the Unity High School in Khartoum, allowed her class of primary school kids to name a teddy bear Muhammad, and all hell broke loose. She was charged with insulting religion, inciting religious hatred and showing contempt for religious beliefs. The arrest followed complaints by parents to the Ministry of Education.Ms Gibbons faces six months in jail or 40 lashes if convicted.Hardline clerics in Sudan suspect that Ms Gibbons is part of some Western plot to to undermine Islam, which is about as absurd as it gets.Fortunately there are also enlightened voices coming to her defense. A Sudanese human rights lawyer and member of parliament, Ghazi Suleiman, offers some clarity. He acknowledges that there was...
