Koston Interview: Indirectly Calls Out Sheckler
2008-03-19 21:01:00 In a recent interview with Eric Koston, we find out some very interesting things. First and foremost, the most shocking thing to me, although understandable, Koston purchased all the Es footwear footage so that they could never use it to promote themselves. If you've followed Koston's career, you'll remember that his flagship shoe for ES sold millions upon millions, even though the price tag was something like 79.99 when they first came out. I know I had a pair...man I miss those shoes. Also, a point of interest for some, the interviewer asks him about a certain kid named Ryan Sheckler snaking him over at the x-games...I saw it live and during one of the heats in a free for all session, Koston gave up trying to go big because Sheckler and others were snaking everyone. Girl Skateboards can do so much better, but instead they are relying on the girl logo way too much, creating some sad looking skateboards right now. Girl Skateboards High Five I5 Video
2007-12-01 16:52:00 Girl Skateboards is a great company. They have some of the best skateboarders in the world skateboarding for them, and they unleashed a great street skate video back a few years. Here it is, in short form of course, and it shows that the staying power of Girl Skateboards is still greatly shown today.I for one ride a Koston Tye Dye Edition Skateboard and it serves me well. It's a little thinner than my usual choice for a skateboard, but it helps with the flip tricks, and allows me to bail faster in case I know I'm going to get hurt. It's a little on the heavy side, but oh well.
