Telemark Ski Festival at Mad River Glen This Weekend

The North American Telemark Organization TeleFest takes place this coming weekend, March 8 and 9. About 1,000 telemark skiers will be taking part in races, clinics, equipment demonstrations, fun runs, and parties. The cost is $54 per day or $104 for two day. and includes lift ticket, clinics, use of demo gear, contests, and Magic Hat dance party. About a week later, March 17 - 21, the next door ski resort at Sugarbush will host the FIS Telemark World Cup Finals with the best telemark skiers in the world competing. 2008-02-29 16:01:00 The next neighborhood I have picked is Providence Glen condos. These condominiums are located of Sage Road an Old Sterling. Therefore, as you can imagine, they are convenient to everywhere you might need to go. These are pretty new condos, the final phase just recently being completed. (The units on the market now are re-sales.) Each building has 12 condos, four to a floor. You usually have a choice of two and three bedroom units. Some come with a detached garage space. There is an elevator in each building so you don’t have to use the stairs if you don’t want the exercise. There is a great clubhouse and pool, as well as a tennis court. The chart shows the units on the market and those that have sold in the past six months. They are well priced for anyone who wants the ease of owning a condo. 2008-02-08 17:30:00 A home at the Kahler Glen golf course near Lake Wenatchee was hit by an avalanche yesterday and carried 150 yards off its foundation according to the Wenatchee World. According to Lake Wenatchee sources, the home was located on Pelton Place which sits above Miracle Mile Road.KIRO TV has the best photos of the avalanche damage and the home. They reported that a mandatory evacuation was in place for 15 nearby homes, due to avalanche danger and a buried propane tank that appeared to be leaking.It doesn't appear that anyone was in the home, but that it was a vacation rental that was scheduled to be occupied this weekend. A two person cleaning crew had been in the home earlier in the day. It sounds like a second home was also damaged by the avalanche.The condos at Kahler Glen are outside of an area that might be effected by avalanches.
