Gmail glitch hampers PayPal use
2008-04-19 16:03:00 CNET is reporting that a glitch at GMail caused some legitimate Paypal e-mails to be junked alongside those annoying bogus ones! A problem this week hampered some Gmail users trying to use their PayPal accounts. The problem caused Gmail to reject some legitimate PayPal service e-mails, Google confirmed in a statement Friday. The problem, reported Tuesday, prevented people from using Gmail to receive confirmation e-mails, set up new accounts, or reset passwords for eBay's online payment system. The problem "affected a very limited number of users," Google said. "We worked quickly to fix the problem, and we apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused." The company encourages those with technical difficulties to report them to the Gmail Help Center.

2008-04-14 04:25:00 MS fixes Vista SP1 glitch - The INQUIRER: "MICROSOFT says 'a few' users experienced problems with installing Vista SP1 due to a fault with the installer.The Servicing Stack Update (SSU) contains code to check if there are any pending reboots or other updates to install. If it sees either of these circumstances, it prevents the install from starting. In some cases, the SSU got its knickers in a twist and thought it needed a reboot itself to complete the installation and the system entered an infinite reboot loop.Recognising that this was a tad inconvenient, MS pulled the SSU from Windows Update last month and is now releasing a patch that installs before the SSU and prevents it attempting a reboot during installation. The SSU has also been modified to check to see if the patch has been applied before starting installation.The upshot is that MS reckons all the problems have been knocked on the head and that everything will now be hunky dory."

I'll be there enjoying their spry but cloudy and brilliantly low key indie pop. Say Hi's latest album The Wishes And The Glitch is full of a loose glorious racket and an understated energy. Say Hi often sounds as if they are ready to break it wide open but never quite shift it into that last gear. The Wishes And The Glitch is excellent and has elements that remind me of stuff like Pedro The Lion, American Analog Set, The Shins, and Interpol. Alexa glitch prevents updating of graphs
2008-02-22 02:48:00 Looks like Alexa is unable to update the graphs and information used in the Alexa site. Only information from the 15th of February remains, so the graph now appears “stuck” to where it was 5 days ago. The problem appears to be because the Movers and Shakers list appears to be stuck at the 12th of February, and rather than letting it remain there, Alexa decided to freeze almost every other thing. At least the Movers and Shakers list now works, though manually updated. (Surprise, surprise! Google is STILL at 4th place…) I guess the delay won’t really hurt Alexa that much.
