And the Golden Globe Goes To?
2009-01-19 04:58:00
Matilda! It was just a week ago tonight that Heath Ledger won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his brilliantly creepy portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight. It was second official award that Heath has won posthumously for the role, the first being one awarded by the Australian Film Institute. While that one ...
Megan Fox's Golden Globe Awards Quotes
2009-01-13 13:23:00
"I'm a tranny. I'm a man," Fox joked to E!'s Giulianna Rancic on the red carpet of Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards. "I'm painfully insecure, like I'm on the verge of vomiting right now, I'm so horrified that I'm here, and embarrassed, I'm scared.""I love that you're looking at Salma Hayek," Rancic told the actress, who replied, "I want her boobs! Those are the most amazing boobs. Perfect.""He (Brian Austin Green) doesn't want to be here," she explained. "You know, he doesn't want to be my date. He's a man. He has an ego.""Well, I do have a 22 inch waist, I will say that. But, I basically starve myself for a month. I'm kidding, I did a lot of pilates. An immense amount of pilates."Megan Fox @ 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

TV Talkback: Golden Globe Nominations
2008-12-11 18:18:00
Couch Tater: Oh, that wacky Foreign Press Corps members! Unlike their Emmy-nominating brethren, the Golden Globe nominators actually seem to occasionally look beyond the perenial favorites and recognize good work being done on shows other than, say, THE OFFICE. Sure, I’ve never even heard of some of the nominated things… I mean, seriously, what the hell is CRANFORD? But they showed a little love to my beloved TRUE BLOOD (which scored nods for both Anna Panquin as Best Actress and the series as Best Drama), so I have to return the favor and give ‘em back at least a little affection. That said, as always, my love comes with a caveat. In this case: What, you couldn’t give BLOOD’s Lois Smith a nod for her portrayal of Sookie’s grandma? The TV Addict: Look beyond their perennial favorites, are you kidding me? HOUSE, Sally Field, ENTOURAGE, America Ferrera, and worst of all Tony Shalhoub for what sure seems like his 75 nomination! Sadly, the Golden Globes ...

Johnny Calls Golden Globe Win ‘Humbling’

This post came from the Johnny Depp Web (Thanks again Guys) “I would like to thank my beloved friends at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for bestowing such an honor on me. It is a humbling experience, especially in the company of such talent. For many years the HFPA has supported my work and for that I have always been truly grateful. While this is indeed a happy day for me, I am overjoyed at the recognition the film as a whole is receiving. TIM is a dear friend and a true artist whose vision and skill inspire us all. He is a genius. Without his unwavering trust and support, I would not be anywhere near where I am today. Also, big thanks and respect to HELENA, whose simply staggering performance as Mrs. Lovett is a wonder to behold. I must send a behemoth salute to the wonderful crew and cast of ‘Sweeney Todd’ and all at Dreamworks/Paramount and Warner Bros. Pictures. In addition, I’d also like to extend my sincere gratitude to, first and foremost, my cherished frie...

The Golden Globes did go a head - kind of, what is normally a night long special became little more than a press conference lasting only half an hour. Because of the writers strike there were no celebrities and the only people onstage were TV presenters that were willing to cross the writers picket line. Now everyone is wondering what will happen to the Oscars and all the other award shows. But for those of you that still want to know who won here is the list of winners. The Golden Globe Winners That Weren't

If I was one of the people slated to get a Golden Globe award yesterday, I would've been super-pissed. Golden Globe winners of the 65th Annual awards show are getting their trophies via FedEx or something this year. Because of the writers' strike, there was a "celebrity boycott" of the Golden Globes ceremony, with members of the Writers Guild of America threatening to picket if the show went on anyways.

I have been a fan of both for years now... and (like most fans) probably more excited about the win than Depp and Burton are. The Golden Globe Winners Announced - SendMeRSS
2008-01-14 18:14:00
The Golden Globe Winners Announced The Golden Globes went off with minimal excitement Sunday, as the Writers Guild wouldn't allow a scripted ceremony and the Screen Actors Guild wouldn't let the stars attend. But despite the boring, abbreviated show, winners were still announced. And now we convey them to you.Any surprises? Well, hard to say, as there were a lot of strong contenders. Atonement is clearly the old lady choice for best drama. It's something of a surprise that it took the trophy considering four of its six competitors have higher ratings on Rottentomatoes (only the Denzel Washington dramas American Gangster and The Great Debaters trail it by a small margin). Not that RT is necessarily the final word on taste, but it does make Atonement something of a dark horse. Semi-fun fact: Ernest Borgnine was up for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Made for TV Movie, but lost to Jim Broadbent. At age 90, Borgnine nearly became the oldest man to win a Golden Globe, bu...

Golden Globe Winners Announced; Absolute Travesty! - SendMeRSS

Golden Globe Winners Announced; Absolute Travesty! The pitiful Golden Globe Awards just finished their measly 30 minute press conference presentation and I will say it was an absolute travesty! Not only was There Will Be Blood robbed of Best Drama, but Juno did not win a single one of the three categories it was nominated for!! Is this real? Am I dreaming?! This really goes to show how much of a hack organization the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) is and how much of a load of crap the Golden Globes truly are. If you're really curious to find out the rest of their terrible choices, you can see the full list below. I was talking on the phone with Peter Sciretta of SlashFilm as these were being announced, and when Juno lost for a third time, he was so pissed off he wanted to punch the TV. That shows you the kind of frustration that the Globes have brewed and goes to show that these really are nothing but a load of crap. I'm not afraid to say it, so someone come and prove ...

The 65th Golden Globe Awards
2008-01-14 18:08:00
The Golden Globes aired last night as a painfully boring thirty minute live press conference. There were no ugly designer gowns for me to mock or exposed nipples to point out, so I’ll just give you the list of winners as dryly as they were announced. First category: FILM Best Motion Picture – Drama: “Atonement” Didn’t see it. Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama: Julie Christie in “Away From Her” Uh, I’m pretty sure Julie Christie is dead. Do your research, people. Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama: Daniel Day-Lewis in “There Will Be Blood” I heard Daniel Day-Lewis has an eleven-inch penis. True story. This could explain the win. Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy: “Sweeney Todd” I think a better name would have been “Teeny Cod.” And it should have been about Johnny Depp doing manual labor in a tiny codpiece. Best Performance by an Ac...
