Product Review: Metro DataVac Electric Duster ED500P.
2011-11-10 00:27:00
If you have a computer then, hopefully, you clean it out on a regular basis. The best way to do this, unfortunately, is to use a "can of air." It's a can of compressed gas that's very good at blowing away dust and dirt from PC cases, fans and other bits. Unfortunately, these have a number of issues.1. They're very limited. It takes an entire can of air to thoroughly blow out a computer and keyboard.2. Expensive. It might cost roughly $4 for a can of air. Having to buy them over and over again really adds up.3. They lose pressure as they start to run out.4. They can get very cold, to the point of not being able to hold them comfortably as you use them.5. You can't maneuver them much. Turning a can too much will cause a cloud of cold gas to come out.6. They're bad for the environment. Buying, using and throwing away the cans will add up not only in cost but in landfills. There's also the energy it takes to manufacture and transport all of those cans.Enter the Metro Dat...

Good Stuff From The Blog World
2008-06-05 18:54:00
It has been awhile since I took the time to pass along some great blogs that I have found while surfing around. I find it amazing how much knowledge sharing is going on. Some pretty creative writing skills as well! Here we go…… Marin at Frugonomics 101 is blogging about frugal living and trying to figure our ...SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Good Stuff From The Blog World", url: "http://www.rather-be-shopping.-com/blog/2008/06/05/good-stuff--from-the-blog-world/" });

Good stuff, Daisy. I have encountered a mood among your feminists that the second wave was all about victimhood and excluding women of colour and working class women. To what extenet this is true, I don't know. But what I do know is without it women today would have remained stuck in the 50s-style servility that was so devastatingly dissected by Betty Friedan. In fact, I would suggest that so-called third wave feminism, and particularly its postmodern variants, sorely lack the liberationist and activist thrust of the second wave. And it's all the poorer for it.
Good Stuff
2008-05-16 09:56:00
I thought I’d share some of my favorite posts this week with y’all. There were quite a few good ones - some made you laugh, some made you think and some just made you shake your head. Something for everybody. Red did a very self-revealing poetry exercise, which apparently inspired Sarah and her pen went wild. ...

It’s interesting to note, on this Mother’s Day, that a Ramussen poll taken May 5th shows Hillary Clinton to be leading the race for Kentucky’s 60 democratic delegates. That primary is scheduled for May 20th. Win or lose, Senator Clinton is making American political history. With the state of the economy slumping and the real ...
Rodeo dreaming
2008-04-23 13:02:00
Imagine this: You have somehow managed to wrangle lower balcony tickets to the U.S.A. National Finals Rodeo. This is the final ride of the 2008 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association–the Super Bowl of Rodeo–and the excitement level is intense. The Thomas and Mack Center, homecourt for the University of Nevada Las Vegas, is capacity-filled and this ...
Information Technology booming

I earlier wrote about information technology certification programs. Since I am now studying web design, I frequently get tips on sources for information. Here’s one of those, hot off the press. It is an incredibly full of options place to gain IT Certification.
Lenovo?s Entire New ThinkPad Line Leaked, X300 Gets Siblings
2008-04-11 04:47:00
A few months back, we broke news on Lenovo’s ultra-thin, ultra-functional X300 laptop. Now we’ve gotten an update on what the company’s been up to during the interim. All of their lines are seeing a major refresh, but the biggest news is that starting this September, the famous X300 will have a family. Soon joined by ...

It turns out that this is not my last term as a Humanities major–the powers that be denied my capstone proposal and have requested a re-submittal. What a headache. It will delay my graduation for six months, since I am not able to attend school this summer. Oh well.
Going riding
2008-03-27 23:49:00
A couple of my students were talking about “going riding” this weekend. A new stable was erected recently, just up the road from the school, so I figured they were talking about riding horses. They saw my interest and asked if I like to “go riding.” That’s when I lit in with a nostalgic recollection ...
Simply the Best
2008-03-23 03:04:00
There is no better time to reflect upon humanity, than on Easter weekend. We are a funny lot–selfish, prideful, and seldom in agreement. I join the apostle Paul in raising my hand and admitting my faults. Thank God for Easter Sunday. Reading the various sites and comments about our hero, Paul Potts, I am ...

See you in Vegas!
2008-03-19 02:02:00
Some say that Paul Potts is a “made for Las Vegas act.” He has a great story, plenty of draw, and is just the sort of fancy, yet not stiff, sort of performer upon which Vegas thrives. Julz and Paul were in the sparkling city, not long ago, and Julie-Ann spoke well of the experience ...

Now, this is cool. Put it in the “where was that when I was young?” department. Have you heard of engineering co-op programs? I had not. What a concept–students are rotated from classroom to job site and earn as they learn! Kettering University, was ranked as as “the #1 University in the nation for Industrial ...

Flower Power

The snow is melting, here on Troublesome, and a promise of spring is in the air. My wife just told me that Easter is only a couple of weeks away and my sister’s birthday, the day before. Mother’s Day and Memorial Day are coming, too…and we are wondering where to get flowers. There isn’t a ...
Hoosier daddy? IU cheerleader shows us the good stuff

I hate Indiana basketball. Thank you Bobby Knight. But I may have to change my tune after seeing the kind of spirit that this cheerleader for the Hoosiers displayed in some pics that have made their way onto the Web thanks to the one and only Don Chavez, who has a shitton more pics than I posted here.

Dymo goes Vista!
2008-03-06 22:34:00
Speaking of good news, I received some today concerning label-makers. Dymo is now compatible with and offers support for the Microsoft Vista operating system! If you aren’t happy about that, then you aren’t a small business owner who switched to Vista and then found that the rest of the world was still running XP. Here’s ...

Stomach weight is associated with making the arteries age. Your arteries supply blood through out your whole system and if these become blocked it can cause many problems for you. The new rich?

In the “You gotta love it” category comes a strong contender for the Paul Potts “Share the Dream” award. (By the way, Paul, that’s not a bad idea…don’t wait for Sony to suggest it, though.) Seeing that I love to whine about my financial woes and the rapidly disappearing real estate market, someone sent ...
Living the dream and paying the bills.
2008-02-20 12:44:00
Paul Potts is living his dream–doing what he always wanted to do. Taking a look at myself, I must say that I am much closer to mine than I was last summer, when Paul won the talent contest and began his journey. I’m living in the mountains, in the country, working at a ...
No news is no news
2008-02-02 16:40:00
Standard fare on the Paul Potts tour is that his public relations team is keeping him a closely guarded secret. MySpace has taken to inventing their own news (Paul Potts to play at NASA) in order to relieve the boredom. For those who wonder where he is, Paul is playing Manchester, England today and Liverpool ...

Honolulu story
2008-01-23 19:03:00
I am reminded of a time that I lived in Hawaii. I had been there on vacation, and loved the place. So, at the first opportunity, I packed my bags and moved to Honolulu. I found a nice little condo within a short walk of Waikiki and settled in. And it was ...
From teacher to computer technician?
2008-01-20 14:46:00
I have become a computer technician. Changed career tracks? No, it is just that I am the only one at our little school who knows much at all about information technology. The person who has been managing our thirty-plus machines is a Macintosh user. It wasn’t much of a surprise, then, ...
Catch the Happiness Wave?

Rare is the person who has yet to hear of Jack Canfield’s “Chicken Soup” series. It all started with “Chicken Soup for the Soul,” but it has blossomed to include everything up to and including, “Chicken Soup for the Scrapbooker’s Soul.” You name it, Jack’s got it. Fewer people, though, know that ...
What Paul Potts doesn?t need?
2008-01-16 13:52:00
Some of you have asked about our home in Sarasota, Florida, and whether or not we have found a buyer. So here’s an update: We are still hanging onto it, but barely. So far it has been impossible to sell or rent. We are running an ad in the local paper ...

Paul Potts, Disney, and eyeglasses
2008-01-12 14:20:00
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: Paul Potts is a made-for-Disney performer. His USA tour, though, doesn’t have him stopping over in Orlando, but I would wager that he will be there next year. Will Disney pick up the story and be the producer of the “One Chance” movie? ...
Welcome to Greenville, South Carolina
2008-01-10 22:14:00
We were driving from Florida to Kentucky, this past summer, when the water pump on our truck failed. Thank God, we were in an area that had a nice motel and a capable garage near one another. Thank God, further, that we were in Greenville, South Carolina. I wrote to the local ...

Paul Potts, vision, and violin
2008-01-09 21:37:00
Our buddy, Netlurker, came through with another thought-provoking comment. I don’t know that I agree with Netlurker, this time, but the point is germane to the discussion. In an earlier post, we mentioned that New Zealand’s Elizabeth Marvelly, an on-fire young soprano, is scheduled to tour with Paul Potts this year. In ...
Good Stuff is Coming Soon!
2008-01-06 06:18:00
Just a short post because I really should get to bed.Today I heard from the DHN (Distance Healing Network - where I applied to be a volunteer to send Distance Reiki and they replied that they were full but may have a vacancy in two weeks - see Gotta Wait)- a week earlier than I expected - woo-hoo! They said there is now a vacancy and am I still interested? I replied with a solid YES, and now I'm waiting to be contacted by a Group Leader. And, I am signing up for my ART (Reiki Level III Practitioner) class, which will be on Friday, February 29th. They offer the full training through Reiki Master the same weekend, but not only do I not feel ready to be a Reiki Master Teacher, the whole shebang is $400 more than the ART, so I'm going to start with the ART level, and when the time comes, I'll look into taking the next step.I'll be sending to the Sunday Reiki Share group in the morning, and keeping my senses "listening" for Reiki energy coming to me from the group during the day. I'...

Nicollette Sheridan brings out even more good stuff!
2007-12-28 16:49:00
Nicollette Sheridan shows off her sexy shapes in a very hot bikini pictorial! So yesterday i posted some bikini pictures of Nicollette Sheridan! Well what do you know, i like her so much, that i thought of posting even more pictures with the Desperate Housewife! Oh she's maybe just as good looking as Elizabeth Hurley, but still she's far away from Monica Bellucci! If you ask me Monica Bellucci is probably the hotest 43 years old celebrity in the universe! Still this is a post about Nicollette Sheridan! But i don't know why, when I say Sheridan, my thoughts fly away to another busty celebrity, witch i have ignored lately, and that is Kim Kardashian! Anyway Nicollette Sheridan's secret for looking so good is quite simple: you gotta work out, as often as you can! What i can't decide is if she had any surgery done to her hot looking body or not! Is not that i care, but i know there are millions of females who...
Posh brings out the good stuff: Legs!
2007-12-21 18:10:00
Victoria Beckham legs are awesome! Too bad her boobs are weird though! Whenever i see Victoria Beckham, i get so excited that i need to take a walk to my bathroom! I haven't yet understood why she's never smiling when she's in front of a camera! However I once saw her and David Beckham at the Aly G show, and for my surprise, she was actually laughing the hell out of her! Maybe because Aly G was making funny remarks on her and her hubie! Another strange thing about Victoria is the way her boobs look! They're so hard rock looking, you might think she's hiding something with them? I wonder what? So she has weird boobs and she can't smile! She does however, have pretty nice legs! That's probably what saves her from being ridiculed all the time no? You can say anything about her, but don't touch her legs! If she'd only work her boobs and ass a bit more, and learn how to gently smile, I'm sur...
