Dry Carbon Goodness For the GT-R
2008-08-31 03:40:00
Fortunately in my business we occasionally come across parts which are the ultimate pinnacle of their respective category. Parts that just take quality to a new level and make everything else pale in comparison. Recently we’ve received another one of our containers and there are a few parts yet again that shatter the image of what high quality is. Today I’m going to be talking about the Mines Dry Carbon Racing Canards for the R35 GT-R, sold to a lucky client of ours in New Jersey. Tomorrow I’ll talk about the pinnacle in Titanium exhausts, an exhaust so good that we just had to make it/commission it ourselves and brand it as Bulletproof Automotive. The Mines dry carbon racing canards are by no means reasonably priced. In a world where $500 carbon canards are considered expensive, is there really a place for a $2180 set of dry carbon canards? Most rational people would say no…that’s stupid to pay $2180 for a set of canards. But those same rational people...
The Shins: Classic Guitar Pop Goodness
2008-08-26 23:32:00
Guitar-driven pop rock in the new century has almost gone the way of jazz. Relegated to the fringes and operating on sounds borrowed from the distant past, it now appeals only to vinyl fetishists and ’60s-obsessives. Which is not to say the genre isn’t still spawning great bands. What’s refreshing about the Shins is that ...

Blogging Goodness - Email Form and Mobile Site
2008-08-01 01:11:00
After doing the super easy route of using Contactify for a while (and getting a handful of complaints), I decided to put a real contact form up on the site. I actually signed up with 10 services or so before I found one that met all my criteria (free, configurable, ad-free, captcha, etc.). The only thing it doesn't have is access for the blind, but my email address can still be found on my Blogger profile.  So you can benefit from all my research by going straight to 123Contactform.com for your contact form needs. Name:* Email:* Subject:* Message:* Verification No.:* Powered by 123ContactForm. For the mobile version of this site, I had been using Wirenode, but I found MoFuse to be much cooler.  Their button fits perfectly in my Subscribe section and the iPhone site looks darn slick. var mf_siteid="mommybytes"; -->

In light of recent events at work, where they suddenly decided after being in the building for a year and a half to start actually trying to take care of the plants in the atriums, and bringing them back to life, my allergies have gone crazy. How crazy you ask? Well, I can’t talk! I ...
Intel's Z-P230... a droplet of SSD goodness for netbooks
2008-06-04 05:23:00
Intel's got some pretty sexy and expensive SSD drives you know those oh so awesome instant access hard drives with near instant seek times. It's always quite expensive for everything from 40-250gb versions. This limits them to pretty much only uber notebooks and the best of the best desktops that speed freaks demand. Well intel's targeting a smaller subset of machines at a MUCH lower price bracket. Namely the NetTop market those tiny 300-400$ laptops that are all the fad these days. How will they target these small PC's that don't even have full sized hard drives to begin with? Well the plan is for 3 models of SSD drives but in much smaller sizes 4gb and 8gb to start with as well as an eventual 16gb model to follow later this year in Q4. The drives are tiny, 1/4th the size of the already small 1.8" hard drives and will have the standard SSD goodness of access and seek times as well as the low power usage which will provide a nice power longevity boost to the nettops tha...

Now that I've taken down the man, I'm ready to hip hop over into a happier place, where bunnies frolic. Or at least I'm ready to point out a few things this week that have made my wee little cup runneth over:The elderly gentleman, wearing a dapper hat and mossy green sweater, carrying a humongous bouquet out of Trader Joe's. Wonder who he gave them to...Lexi's first attempt at the javelin, which was less than stellar. Yet, she chuckled about it. What a gift it is, to laugh at yourself when you try something new. Blogs. Bloggers. Don't like the word itself - it's dopey - but knowing this community will be here no matter where I go makes me feel brave and adventurous. (You will be here, right? Cool Coffedy Goodness
2008-05-08 15:09:00
photo credit: huong-lan I swear I’m really not trying to turn this into the ultimate coffee blog, it’s just sort of working out that way. Last summer, the New York Times ran an article about the virtues of cold-brewed coffee.  It seems that the latest in Manhattanite metrosexual snobbery is that brewing coffee the old-fashioned away (i.e., with boiling water) and then icing it down Simply Will Not Do.  No, if one wants real iced coffee, one must cold-brew it (I’ve also seen reference to the process as “cold-press”). I found this intriguing.  Coffee is coffee, ain’t it?  However, always one to hop on what the Manhattan gays are doing, during a trip to IKEA at some point during the fall, I picked up a French press (HüvúdstÃ¥d or somesuch) on über-sÃ¥le (with meatballs!).  By that point in the year, however, it was a bit cool in the mornings for me to want coffee iced instead of warm, so the French press sat on the kitchen counter and collect...
Thank Goodness For Glucosamine Chondroitin!
2008-05-07 21:10:00
As many of the regular readers of this blog already know, I've been taking glucosamine chondroitin on a semi-regular basis. I am specifically taking it to strengthen & protect the joints in my knees & ankles, & have found it be genuinely useful/effective thus far.I don't really feel like explaining all about the supplement -- its purpose, benefits, etc. -- but if you are curious, you can check the below articles for some good background info:University of Maryland Medical Center article (Overview)NCCAM article (Results of their Glucosamine & Chondroitin sulfate study)ConsumerLab Glucosamine chondroitin product review (Paid subscription service)Anyhow, since my running buddy recently asked me for a specific product recommendation, I thought I'd share the information here, in case anyone was curious about it or considering taking the supplement themselves:I get triple-strength caplets from CVS. They're nothing fancy, just the generic CVS brand. They come in vari...

MOCHA WALNUT CHOC-CHIP MUFFINS...GREEDY GOODNESS!!
2008-05-05 16:05:00
"I believe the world to be a muffin pan, and there certainly are a lot of muffins here."Aaron Funk Mocha Walnut Chocolate-chip Muffins...When I read about theSnackshots #3 event hosted by Michelle @ Greedy Gourmet , I was thrilled. Opportunity to try these mocha muffins I had bookmarked long ago, & soon. Michelle asks "What’s the difference between a muffin and cupcake? ...A muffin contains less sugar and doesn’t have icing on top, in other words it’s healthier. " My choice of muffin is deep, dark, decadent & chocolaty; the flavours enhanced with the addition of coffee. Am still trying to place the source on the net; I know I wanted to try these because they used oil instead of butter & were literally popping out of the screen!! They didn't disappoint at all; lovely chocolaty dark muffins, great taste, moist & soft!! What's more ? No butter!! Got a whole batch of 12 regular ones, & also almost a dozen mini muffins out of the batter...bonanza!!Like other ...

Envious of the Goodness
2008-04-30 17:08:00
One night as I was browsing through my internet browser, mind you I use Mozilla Firefox since the Internet Explorer sucks big time with recent updates, I was buzzed through the Yahoo! Messenger by one of my old friends from MJSC and it's been quite a long time since I last talked with him. Not going to miss this golden chance, I quickly seized it. It was good to get the chance to chat with your friends, especially the ones that you had been lost contact with. We reminisce the old days on how hard it was to get up for the Subuh Prayers despite the loud banging of doors made from the student and teachers like. Anyway, this particular friend of mine had enrolled to the MSU, Management and Science University in Malaysia, a private university.I don't really get it how people would go into private university, especially someone like me, an ordinary boy with no materialistic background. Private university doesn't really convinced me and my family, not saying that the private ones are a ...

Reward for Goodness
2008-04-17 10:38:00
Three men died in a car accident and met Jesus himself at the Pearly Gates. The Lord spoke unto them saying, "I will ask you each a simple question. If you tell the truth I will allow you into heaven, but if you lie....Hell is waiting for you. To the first man the Lord asked, "How many times did you cheat on your wife?" The first man replied, "Lord, I was a good husband. I never cheated on my wife." The Lord replied, "Very good! Not only will I allow you in, but for being faithful to your wife I will give you a huge mansion and a limo for your transportation. To the second man the Lord asked, "How many times did you cheat on your wife?" The second man replied, "Lord, I cheated on my wife twice." The Lord replied, "I will allow you to come in, but for your unfaithfulness, you will get a four- bedroom house and a BMW. To the third man the Lord asked, "So, how many times did you cheat on your wife?" The third man replied, "Lord, I cheated on my wife about 8 times." The Lord replied, "I...

Spring Cleaning Giveaway #2: Marshmallowy Goodness
2008-04-11 15:36:00
Today's contest concerns my life as a marshmallow -- specifically, when I danced in the 1977 Sacramento Ballet production of The Nutcracker as a "Marshmallow Child." Being a Marshmallow Child basically meant huddling with a bunch of other seven-year-old girls under the giant hoopskirt of "Mother Marshmallow" -- a male dancer in drag. I remember some of the girls pulling the hair on his legs.

Tommy Lee Goodness
2008-04-05 04:59:00
I’ve wanted to draw Tommy Lee Jones since I saw No Country For Old Men. What an amazing face. This is sad Tommy. But I think we can all picture when he breaks into his million lined smile. I’ll do that image one day too. We recently watched In The Valley of Elah. Another where senseless inhumanity is embodied in Jone’s face. I know it’s only acting but his artistry is in the stratospheric realm. I’d cover that mug with kisses if given half a chance…

Experiencing the goodness that is Windows Mobile 6.1
2008-04-02 08:58:00
Yesterday, our friends on the Windows Mobile Team have announced Windows Mobile 6.1 at CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas. Windows Mobile Program Manager Mel Sampat made the announcement on the Windows Mobile Team Blog which also includes information on devices and carriers that will get upgrades to Windows Mobile 6.1. Keep your eyes on their blog for more Windows Mobile 6.1 information in the near future. I've had the pleasure of running around with Windows Mobile 6.1 on my Samsung BlackJack II for the last few weeks and would like to share some notable improvements and new features I've taken notice of with you. The first thing I took notice of with Windows Mobile 6.1 was the new Home Screen. The Home Screen has been redesigned to accommodate easier navigation with "tiles". This is pretty much my most favorite feature and improvement in Windows Mobile 6.1. Mangosteen Goodness
2008-04-01 18:48:00
I was chatting with a friend today who was promoting a health supplement that contained primarily mangosteen. What tweaked my interest was because it seems mangosteen is really good to control allergies and sinus conditions. His son who was having problems with his sinus had not had any attack since taking this health supplement. His wife's migraines had also seemed to disappear!Biotivia Bio Quench also had mangosteen as one of their ingredients. It's also made up of other anti-oxidant ingredients like extract from apple skin, goji berry, pomegranate and grape seed. Perhaps I should give this product a try. After all if it gets rid or even control this allergies, it is worth a try :)Cheerio...
