Google Trends: Daylight Saving Time Top Search
2008-03-10 01:34:00 Google Trends is another cool gadget from Google.com. It allows you to view latest search trends and from my testing this Google Trends. I found out that the top most searched keyword as of Today is daylight saving time. Maybe because US starts its daylight saving time this March and many of them don't know the real time. As far as I know DST or daylight saving time was imposed by many countries including US and the Philippines to conserve energy and I as far as I can remember, in the Philippines we use DST during energy crisis sometime on summer during Aquino or Ramos regime. I can't really remember anymore. Well, through this gadget bloggers and "link baiters" will have at least a target keyword to optimize for their page to increase it's traffic. Predicting Super Tuesday results using Google trends
2008-02-06 08:05:00 Google seems to have a nice tool that is pretty accurate at predicting future election results. Google trends, which collates the total number of searches for a specific term has a nice little ability to predict stuff, accurately too. Using Google trends, you can search for “clinton, obama, romney, mccain” (they are the top 4 candidates), and you get a nice chart showing you who’s more popular. Apparently, Obama is in the lead, while Clinton is second. Sure enough, BBC is reporting that Obama is currently in the lead. It’s worth noting that Google trends has been fairly accurate in predicting results for past elections (of course, it can be inaccurate at times). © 2008 Tevine.

Penny sent me an email this evening trying to figure out what keywords would be better for a site she was working on, and I remembered about google trends. Basically the way it works is you separate the keywords you want to trend using commas. Google returns the trends (search volume) for those keywords and gives you a nice little graph. A couple I was playing around with boy, girl cat, dog big, little I know these are irrelevant just some interesting information.
