We crossed over the Bridge of Gods, and hit up Multnomah Falls on our way to my parents' house. 2007-11-22 17:21:00 NAHAN : Â As per information reached here this evening two persons were killed and three were critically injured as a Truck [No. HP-17-3404] on way to village Shilla in Shillai tehsil from Paonta fell into a deep gorge at a place Kali Khan, near Shilla village, about 80 KM from here. Police sources said that Hakam Singh [29] a resident of village Pab and Anil Kumar [25] resident of village Shilla were killed on the spot while three other occupants which includes driver of the truck Sia Ram, Dani Chand and Babu Ram were critically injured. Villagers and Shillai Police did the rescue work and send injured to the different hospitals including PGI. The condition of Babu Ram has been stated critical. The cause of accident was not known immediately. Police has registered a case in this connection.

This year, for a twist on the Memorial Day camping trip, I attended the Sasquatch Music Festival at the Gorge Ampitheater in the middle of Washington. The twist was that the festival was carbon neutral, and so was our transportation. The Gorge Ampitheater is an impressive venue. On the edge of the Columbia River Gorge, the sun sets just behind the stage and the seating is on grass-covered hillside. The view is spectacular, and since Michael Franti and Spearhead were playing, I had to go. The book contains 130 photographs from the gorge and is the first coffee table book dedicated to the area.John will be in the Cincinnati area to sign copies of his book and to meet with folks on Saturday, May 19 at the Barnes and Noble in Newport on the Levee from 6-8PM.
