i gorman wedding event!
2008-02-27 20:13:00 since i work in a building on the same street as i. gorman, i pass it nearly every day on the way to lunch or the metro. i stopped in for the first time today during lunch to try on wedding bands (even though we have another seven months) :)nicole was awesome! she cleaned my ring for me and offered up a variety of bands to try on. the selection at this store is very well-edited and the customer service is outstanding--obvious from the various regulars that stopped in while i was there (must be why Miss Capitol Hill went back!). anyhow, i'm going to have to bring FI back but nicole told me about their upcoming wedding event.all of i.gorman's designers will be giving trunk shows at the store on March 21 & 22; there'll be food, drinks and most importantly, 10% off on your purchase that weekend!!!!

I. Gorman - I Do
2008-02-05 23:16:00 Last August I wrote about our first trip to look for wedding rings at I. Gorman. Since that time we had planned to browse around some other stores and see what other jewelers had to offer. Well five months have gone by and with the wedding fast approaching we knew we had to order ... Related Entries: I-GormanFiance and I started looking for wedding bands on Saturday. Gorman On Screenwriting #1
2007-10-18 09:47:00 I know being an ‘aspiring screenwriter’ doesn’t make me a greatest authority on the subject, but I’ve read a lot of books, and I’ve written a lot of self proclaimed garbage. That might as well make me a trained professional. Well at least ‘trained’. Rather than cover some pretentious post about three act structure (which ...

Gorman?s Indecision
2007-10-11 09:31:00 It’s not often that you spot the president of a car company checking our their competitor’s product - at a motor show. Ford’s Tom Gorman was spotted seeing what all the fuss was about at the Holden stand - in particular the new Holden Sportwagon. We’ll leave the conclusion up to you.
How to Avoid an Okun or McGhan? Gary Gorman?s Expert Analysis May Be Helpfu
2007-09-05 03:31:00 2007 has been a tumultuous time for the 1031 industry. With the assumed embezzlement of funds by McGhan’s Southwest Exchange ($100 million), Ed Okun’s 1031 Tax Group ($150 million), and the “Where’s Waldo” disappearing act attorney Scoop Daniels ($1 million) performed-the industry is suffering from a severe credibility problem ...

Gorman?s Lost Theory #1 - Fate & Freewill
2007-08-07 14:39:00 I'm sure this is just the first of my many rants/theories about my favorite addiction; Lost. In the final scene of Through the Looking glass Jack says and I quote: "We have to go back, Kate. We have to go back!" Now this part of my crazy theory is coming from a writer's perspective. When you have characters repeat lines in a screenplay (or teleplay) it is either A. Because you have a lousy short term memory such as myself and have a tendency to repeat oneself or B. It's because the line is damn important. In fact Jack says it those words three times, in just one scene. Can you say "There is no place like home" ? If only he had those ruby red slippers. Still you have to admire the writing on the show for making an ironic homage to Wizard of Oz.

R. C. Gorman (ATC ) (IF: missing)
2007-08-05 10:26:00 Whenever there is something missing cuddle up in a huge soft blanket or shawl. It really helps! This weeks topic on Illustration Friday is "missing" (suggested by Brian Blankenship).Rudolph Carl Gorman (July 26, 1931 - November 3, 2005) was a Native American artist of the Navajo nation. Referred to as "the Picasso of American art" by the New York Times, his paintings are primarily of Native American women and characterized by fluid forms and vibrant colors, though he also worked in sculpture, ceramics, and stone lithography. You can see some of his work here.
The Gorman Dogfight-Encounters with UFO
2007-04-19 11:46:00 On the night of October 1st 1948 Lieutenant George F. Gorman of North Dakota Air National Guard had just been on a cross-country flight with his squadron. Upon his return to Hector airport in Fargo he thought he would log some night flying time so he remained up in the air as the other airplanes landed. He circled his F-51 over the lighted football stadium and then around the city he was then preparing to land at around 9pm that night and he was cleared to do so by the control tower. He was told about another aircraft in the area (Piper Cub) which was the only other plane, he could see the light aircraft below about 500 feet below his location. Then what appeared to be a taillight of a plane passed him on the right but the tower told him they knew of no other plane in the area.Gorman told the tower he was going to check out and investigate what he thought to be another aircraft and pulled his F-51 up and out toward the moving light. He closed in within about 1,000 yards and took a g...

Gorman reviews Black Snake Moan
2007-04-04 18:00:00 GORMAN REVIEWS BLACK SNAKE MOAN Craig Brewer has made one mighty fine sophomore effort. The second feature film for a director is always difficult. Gorman?s Picks for Oscar Night
2007-02-21 17:32:03 So, I don’t know about you but I heard through the grapevine that there’s this awards ceremony thing hosted by some one un-funny lesbian(no, not Bob Saget when he was doing America’s Funniest Home Videos) surrounding the Hollywood film industry. I won’t be watching it personally since well I get annoyed with myself when I want to chuck something at the TV over something so trivial as the Oscar. I’ll save that for when the Raptors make the playoffs. Below are my picks for this year’s 79th Oscar ceremony. These are not who I think deserve the awards(as in most cases my idea of best film did not even get an Oscar, in fact there are four) but simply who I think will win. Best Picture: THE DEPARTEDBABELLITTLE MISS SUNSHINELETTERS FROM IWO JIMATHE QUEEN Actor in a Leading Role: Forest Whitaker, THE LAST KING OF SCOTLANDPeter O’Toole, VENUSWill Smith, THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESSLeonardo DiCaprio, BLOOD DIAMONDRyan Gosling, HALF NELSON Actress in ...

What?s Gorman reading?
2007-02-18 05:30:06 So earlier this week it was freezing out and I suddenly thought that it was a great idea to run out and purchase a new printer (my current one is a real workhorse but is starting to fall short). Anyways I arrived home printer-less but with a really crappy magazine that is as shallow and dirty as the public kiddie pool far away from a restroom. I purchased it with the pretense that there was a full film special for the magazine. Instead I get two pages if Tarantino dribble, an empty guide to making your own film and a pedantic display in their 10 most complex film-makers article that includes Spike Lee, John Huston, and John Cassavettes but gives no notice to David Lynch or Sergio Leone, or Sam Peckinpah. Sure I may be blowing this magazine’s lack of writing ability out of proportion but I was understanding that the magazine’s demographic was in the 18–35 male demographic. However the writing might up the alley of a clever 11 year who has seen breasts for the first ...

What is Gorman Listening to?
2007-02-18 05:30:06 PENNRADIO This is the first of many posts I will be making in regards to what I tend to listen to. First up is Penn Jillette’s daily radioshow and podcast known simply as PennRadio. So what kind of listener are you if you listen to PennRadio? Well most likely you are an atheist libertarian with a penchant for anarchy with a radio program that seemingly start off with no direction often with no established subject of the day. It’s freestyle radio that is educational and funny. Just recently they covered the debunking of the moon landing with Joe Rogan and recently was a random conversation with SNL alumni Julia Sweeney. I personally down-load this every afternoon. So check out Penn Jillette’s radio program co-hosted by Michael Goudeau here. Penn & Teller on the Simpsons

Gorman Reviews Rocky Balboa
2006-12-22 23:05:01 Since I am home in Saint John at the moment I had the chance to check out the final installment in the Rocky series, and to be frank I love every Rocky movie; warts and all. There is just something about this character, the underdog full of heart and all that sappy pappy crap that reels you in every time… even when it’s against Ivan Drago. I’m still trying to figure out where this one ranks but personally I would say it was better than Rocky IV + V and quite possibly takes on Clubber Lang ranking only below the first two. It was hilarious watching this thing and hearing the piano key music and the hammy dialog, but for some reason I didn’t mind. The original Rocky more or less invented the montage workout sequence and the corny flashbacks actually work in its favor in some strange way and after the first fifteen minutes I was hooked. Like the best of the Rocky movies the message is not that winning is everything but that going the distance and doing what you ...

Gorman takes a moment to pause and reflect ? on FOX.
2006-12-19 05:02:01 Source: Fox.com/pause/ I’m not fan of Ruper Murdoch and last night I just so happened to be watching a new episode ofFamily Guy. During one of the commercial breaks I saw what later revealed itself to be a PSA(public service announcement) called “Pause”. Basically it featured two pong paddles bouncing the square back and forth until it converged into a pause symbol. At first I was under the impression it was a clever advert for the Xbox360. Instead I get this deep message that I should pause and reflect rather than act impulsively. Sure it’s a great ,albeit common sense message, but the message seems to contradict itself. It’s like handing someone a turd sandwich and saying “don’t eat turd”. This PSA was an ADD dreamland and seemed to defeat the purpose of it’s message. Not to mention I did happen to check out the website only to find out it’s more preachy bullcrap focusing on drug use, alcohol abuse, social networking, and...

Gorman = Bernard Black
2006-12-14 22:55:01 Have you ever had one of those moments when you’re sitting on your couch watching TV and you see a character on screen that just has you pegged. Sometimes it’s unfortunate to find out that said character is a cantankerous Irish alcoholic bookstore owner by the name of Bernard Black. Seasons 1 & 2 of Black Books are now available to buy in North America. Technorati : bailey, bernard, bill, black, books, british, comedy, dylan, moran, tv, youtube
