2007-11-20 15:18:00
Federal authorities have convened a grand jury to investigate multiple shootings involving private security contractors in Iraq, including a Sept. 16 incident in which guards for Blackwater Worldwide killed 17 civilians at a Baghdad traffic circle, according to sources familiar with the investigation. The Washington grand jury has issued subpoenas to several private security firms, including Blackwater, a legal source briefed on the probe said yesterday. Authorities are seeking company "after-action" reports and other documents that may shed light on specific incidents, he said. The source, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the probe, declined to say which incidents have been targeted, but he said the investigation ranges well beyond Blackwater. Sports Barry Bonds Charges Lied of Steroids Use - Federal Grand Jury, Crimi
2007-11-16 14:10:00
I am kind of surprised by this I thought maybe he would never be charged with anything. In the news a federal grand jury charged for Barry Bonds with four counts of perjury and one count of obstruction of justice. Criminal investigation found positive tests of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs. So much talk by people should he be taken out of the record books. Yes, I think he should but along with him, I think another player in the record books did drugs too. I really don?t know what to think he did break a record but he did it with doing drugs. Doing them did give him an advantage over honest players who are drug free.Barry Bonds is not the only one doing this I think many players might be using some form of performance enhancing drug like steroids. Would be surprised what players are using drugs to improve playing statistics to become a high paid popular player in the game. - Blog Barry Bonds Broke 756 with Controversy - Products Barry Bonds - Books Drugs Baseball - Y...

Houston, TX Grand Jury indicts 8 for mortgage fraud
2007-01-23 08:57:01
In a 1/22/07 press release from the Texas Department of Insurance  it was announced that a Houston Grand Jury handed down indictments on eight individuals for a series of mortgage fraud scams in the Houston area, involving close to 300 properties valued at approximately $40 million. The indictments are the result of a long-term investigation by the Consumer Fraud Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Fraud Unit. TDI is the state regulatory agency for title insurance and licenses title agents and escrow officers. Most of the fraudulent transactions involved finding a “straw buyer” with a high credit score, and persuading that person to purchase one or more properties. The perpetrators would obtain a phony appraisal that was significantly inflated. Because of the buyer’s favorable credit score, their loan would be approved with minimal scrutiny by the lending institution. Once the sale went thro...

NSWBC has obtained a copy of the subpoena issued for Mr. Tice’s testimony and is releasing it to the public for the first time. The subpoena directs Mr. Tice to appear before the jury on August 2, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Eastern District of Virginia. Mr. Tice “will be asked to testify and answer questions concerning possible violations of federal criminal law.” Now if only Congress would have the balls to conduct serious and week-long televised investigation hearings into all of the recent leaks by Federal employees who side with al-Qaeda and against you and I. -Bruc...
