I?d like to think that my co-workers missed my company and were glad to see me back; but, judging from the amount of work on my desk, and from the deluge of telephone calls for administrative support I?ve answered, it appears that I was missed for other reasons. My trip went well, but it was no vacation, and it is great to be home. Of course, no business trip would be complete without some sight seeing. 2007-11-22 05:39:00 Monday night was Charlie Daniels annual Christmas for Kids benefit at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, but it was Daniels who received the big gift.During the show, Martina McBride stepped out on stage and announced that Daniels had been voted admission into the Grand Ole Opry. At the end of the announcement, the curtains parted to show the barn backdrop used for so many years for the Opry radio broadcasts.Daniels told the audience, "I cannot even begin to tell you folks. This is very emotional for me. I never ever in my wildest dreams, when I came to Nashville with my precious wife and son, dreamed that this would happen.
