2008-04-16 15:03:00 Well goodness gracious me. I've been so utterly gobsmacked by the news from London yesterday that Grazia have written about my blog in this week's issue. I was woken up super early by the trash trucks on St Marks, so I extracted my Blackberry from under my pillow (in the manner of a fully functioning addict) to find that Susie Bubble had emailed to tell me that LLG was in the What's Up section. (That girl is seriously quick off the mark - thanks love!)The kindness of strangers never ceases to amaze me: I had emails all day from people who thought I may have missed it, & then a lovely girl just emailed me out of the blue with these scans, which saves me from scouring Manhattan for a copy. And thank you Grazia: you didn't just make my day, but my mother's too!

Andruw Jones has an awful .216/.312/.418 line this year. He's been outdone by Shawn Green, Sammy Sosa, Jose Vidro, and Shannon Stewart in terms of OPS. Nonetheless, Jones isn't expected to come at a discount. Scott Boras will just play up the defense, the RBIs, the career totals, whatever. Graziano says "it's hard to see" the Reds picking up Adam Dunn's $13MM option. This would just be plain dumb on Wayne Krivsky's part. Given the $0.5MM buyout, it's basically like signing Dunn to a one-year, $12.5MM deal. How many teams would pass on a huge power bat on a no-risk one-year commitment? If the Reds don't exercise the option, it will be change for change's sake. And a bad decision. Kosuke Fukudome is the dark horse, a possible impact right fielder from Japan....

Here's my summary: Beyond the Cubs, Graziano lists the Braves, Dodgers, and Diamondbacks as teams interested in pitcher Zack Greinke. If the initial asking price for Octavio Dotel was as high as reported, I can't imagine what Dayton Moore would want for Greinke. Graziano's Dotel suitors: Cubs, Dodgers, and Brewers. The Red Sox, Rockies, and Indians have been mentioned by other sources. Quite a market for this guy. David Weathers is seen as the poor man's Dotel/Gagne. Let's see if Wayne Krivsky can get something useful for him. Stormy makes another $2.75MM in '08 before his contract is up. The Mets are mostly focused on a power relief arm, as Roy Oswalt and Dontrelle Willis are said to be unavailable. Da questo menefreghismo sarebbero scaturiti diversi problemi di sicurezza, primo fra tutti l’episodio dello worm dentro ad un video. Fortunatamente dopo tutto il rumore che il post ha scaturito in rete, Google si è deciso a metter mano al codice del portalone YouTube, correggendo tutte le falle individuate da Matthies. Ad annunciarlo è lo stesso Christian, che in un secondo post scrive di aver finalmente ricevuto risposta dal team Google, di aver addirittura parlato con Hunter Walk, Product Manager di YouTube e di aver ricevuto come compenso una bella maglia targata Google. “I think they have learned their lesson from all the noise” conclude Christian.
