The Reprise/Warner Bros. set saw an off-cycle release on Friday, May 15 in order to more closely align its world-wide street dates. Cam'Ron's "Crime Pays" cashes in with a No. 3 debut, selling 43,000 copies. Paul Wall's "Fast Life" enters at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 with 22,000. Roots rock singer/songwriter Steve Earle achieves the highest charting album of his career as his "Townes" set bows at No. 19 with 18,000. Their last album was released about 5 years ago and has sold 12 million copies worldwide. With the success of "American Idiot" it's only fair that the guys took some time to get the follow-up out. First single "Know Your Enemy" has already set the tone for the rest of the album #1 U.S. Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks for a couple weeks now. As for the album they continued the rock opera style of "American Idiot" and divided the album into three acts: "Heroes and Cons," "Charlatans and Saints," and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades." This time around stepping it up even more the guys give their breakdown of the new millennium. This is a rock album created by a band that has something to say about the real world.
