Partying with Guys like Greg Oden is a Reason to Miss College
2008-06-09 18:16:00
Athletes, no matter how famous they are, are still just the big guys on campus. You see them in the mess hall, you see them walking down the halls, and you certainly see them partying.  Greg Oden is no exception

I am one happy Blazer fan today, a .500 season! The season ended last night with a 100-91 loss to the Phoenix Suns. That is NOTHING new from the past several season. And, once again, the Blazers are not a Western Conference playoff team. Again, nothing new there. What is new is the spirit that I and ...
Greg Oden Caught.......Playing Basketball GASP
2008-03-28 16:47:00

Greg Oden isn't doing much in the way of basketball these days, but he sure is blogging up a storm, and Tuesday he wrote that Barack Obama will be getting his vote come November. > "We are all citizens of this great country and I know I'm putting in my one vote. I know it's just one small vote,

Maybe the Bulls should be the ones to emulate the Blazers
2008-01-03 23:48:00
The Bulls should be honored that the Portland Trail Blazers have based their rebuilding plan on John Paxson?s strategy, as the Blazers GM said in today?s Sam Smith column. Kevin Pritchard wanted to build through the draft and bring in good character guys that worked hard, just as the Bulls did, starting with Kirk ...

RIP City is Back, Even Without Greg Oden [Snave]
2007-10-26 20:41:00
I have been a fan of the Portland Trailblazers since the inception of the franchise, and it still looks like ?Rip City? is on the way back from the dreary "Jail Blazer" days of Isaiah Rider, Shawn Kemp, Qyntell Woods, Bonzi Wells, etc. despite the loss of #1 NBA draft pick Greg Oden for the season to knee surgery. Why am I optimistic?Last season, SG Brandon Roy was the NBA?s top rookie. Big man LaMarcus Aldridge (pictured above) was developing into a good ballplayer, and SF Martell Webster and SF/PF Travis Outlaw continued to make strides. In his second season at PG, Jarrett Jack did a good job for coach Nate McMillan. Add in the fact that 7-foot defensive specialist Joel Przybilla seems to be healthy and Channing Frye has been added in the offseason trade of Zach Randolph (dubbed ?Z-Fat? by many Blazer fans) to the Knicks, and it seems like Portland is definitely a team on the way up. PG Steve Blake was added to the roster, and he may actually start at his position. F James Jones w...

Greg Oden Undergoes Surgery
2007-09-15 01:30:00
The top pick in this year’s NBA draft, Greg Oden will miss his first season with the Portland Trail Blazers after surgery on his right knee Thursday. Doctors found cartilage damage during an exploratory procedure, and team physician Dr. Don Roberts performed micro fracture surgery to repair the damage. He is expected to be on crutches for up to eight weeks. Full recovery likely will take six to 12 months, the team said. It was his second health problem since the Trail Blazers drafted him. He had a tonsillectomy in July after struggling in two Las Vegas summer league games.
Oden se perderá toda la temporada
2007-09-14 00:50:00
NBA: Greg Oden to Miss the 2007-2008 Season [J. Mark English]
2007-09-13 23:52:00
Well, this is never good. You gotta feel bad for Portland. This is from the NBA:An exploratory arthroscopic surgery performed on Greg Oden today revealed cartilage damage to the Portland Trail Blazers rookie?s right knee. Oden is likely to miss the 2007-08 NBA season. "Greg had an arthroscopy and a micro fracture surgery today," said team physician Dr. Don Roberts, who performed the surgery. "He was found to have articular cartilage damage in his right knee. The area of injury was not large and we were able to treat it with micro fracture, which stimulates the growth of cartilage. There are things about this that are positive for Greg. First of all he is young. The area where the damage was is small and the rest of his knee looked normal. All those are good signs for a complete recovery from micro fracture surgery." Oden is expected to be on crutches for up to eight weeks. Recovery time from micro fracture surgery varies from person to person, but generally takes between six an...

Portland Trailblazers rookie-to-be big man Greg Oden will miss his rookie season after having microfracture surgery today on his right knee in Vancouver, Washington. “Greg had an arthroscopy and a microfracture surgery today,? team physician Dr. Don Roberts, who performed the surgery, said in a statement posted on the Trail Blazers’ Web site. “He was found to have articular cartilage damage in his right knee. The area of injury was not large and we were able to treat it with microfracture, which stimulates the growth of cartilage. “There are things about this that are positive for Greg. First of all, he is young. The area where the damage was is small and the rest of his knee looked normal. All those are good signs for a complete recovery from microfracture surgery.? Greg Oden’s knee injury is a lot worse than everyone thought. He is expected to be out for the entire season after undergoing micro-fracture surgery. Nba, Greg Oden prima scelta, Belinelli n° 18 per Golden State
2007-07-02 08:26:00
Will Greg Oden be a Great Player?

Will Greg Oden be a Great Player? Will Greg Oden be the next Patrick Ewing or will the Portland Blazers someday regret that he will be a Kwame Brown? My NBA Draft Winners and Losers
2007-06-29 06:51:00
WINNERSPortland TrailblazersSo obviously they are huge winners in getting Oden but they really took it a step further. I absolutely love the deal they swung with the Knicks sending Zack Randolph out East for Steve Francis (once dubbed "Franchise") and Channing Frye. Francis will start at PG while Frye adds depth to the front court. Even though Randolph is a great player he was going to get logjammed with Aldridge and Oden so that was a great move. Portland's starting 5 will be young and tremendous next year and for years to come. This is what I'm looking at for their starting 5: Francis, Roy, Aldridge, Oden, and maybe Frye or Jack. Plus they'll have great youth on the bench with (like I said either Frye or Jack) plus Rudy Fernandez (like him), Taurian Green, and McRoberts. Basically I want to know if it is too late to be a Trailblazers fan? Seattle Super SonicsOnce again they would be winners for the sole fact of just getting Durant. However, they got much much more. How they wer...

Revised 2007 NBA Mock Draft
2007-06-27 06:16:00
Here's my revised 2007 NBA Mock Draft. After the draft deadline and workouts, I have some changes from my last Mock Draft.1. Portland Trail Blazers- Greg Oden, Ohio St.Please Portland, take Oden. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take a player with this caliber. Big men like this are hard to come by these days and believe me, he won't disappoint. It would be smart to take him over Kevin Durant.2. Seattle Sonics- Kevin Durant, TexasI bet the Sonics were jumping out of their pants when they heard they had the 2nd pick. Rashard Lewis will not be around anymore and Durant will be able to take his place immediately. He is a franchise type player and once he puts on some mass, he'll be an all star.3. Atlanta Hawks- Al Horford, FloridaI am giving in. I decided to move up Horford a few spots. The Hawks will not waste another pick in drafting another versatile forward that they're loaded with already. The Hawks have many options here... they could use a PG in Mike Conley Jr. bu...
Complete Coverage: NBA Draft [David Stefanini]
2007-06-26 14:50:00
With a lot of things going around in the NBA today I think it is time to do a full rundown of exactly what is going on.First the big news of the day is a potential 4-team trade involving the Celtics, Pacers, T'Wolves, and Lakers. The trade would bring Kevin Garnett to the Lakers to pair with Kobe Bryant. The Celtics would get Jermaine O'Neal, the Pacers would get Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom, and the lonely T'Wolves would get draft picks. Why is this trade likely to happen? The Lakers desperately want to please Kobe. Getting Garnett would make Kobe very happy and stop all the trade talks surrounding him. The Celtics would get an All-Star center to go along with Paul Pierce making them a force in the East. The Pacers would get 2 very good players; one of them being a potential Super-Star. The T'Wolves will finally have let Garnett go after screwing the world and Garnett out of 10 years. Why is the trade not going to happen? Kevin Garnett wants to go to Phoenix. The Lakers are a good...

Durant impresiona a Portland en el workout
2007-06-24 01:47:00
An Interview With Darren Rovell
2007-06-13 15:06:00
When we are kids, we think of sports as nothing more than games being played by larger than life figures. We idolize these men and women, and think they are playing for our city, for our team, because they want to win for the sake of the us - the fans. The process of growing up means many hard truths are learned, and one of those hard truths is that sports are a big business played by rich men on teams owned by even richer men. Billions of dollars worth of transactions take place in sports every year. That is where Darren Rovell comes in.As the leading expert in the world of sports business, Rovell is a busy man. He runs his own blog on cnbc.com called Sports Biz, appears on CNBC television, is a guest on many national radio programs and has written two books, First in Thirst: How Gatorade Turned the Science of Sweat into a Cultural Phenomenon and On the Ball: What You Can Learn About Business From America's Sports Leaders. Darren was kind enough to take time out of his schedule to...
Orlando Pre-Draft Camp: Primeras mediciones
2007-06-04 23:52:00
2007 NBA Mock Draft
2007-05-24 07:13:00
Here's The Sports Flow's 2007 NBA Mock Draft:1. Portland Trail Blazers- Greg OdenPlease Portland, take Oden. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take a player with this caliber. Big men like this are hard to come by these days and believe me, he won't disappoint. It would be smart to take him over Kevin Durant.2. Seattle Sonics- Kevin DurantI bet the Sonics were jumping out of their pants when they heard they had the 2nd pick. It looks like Rashard Lewis will not be sticking around much longer and Durant will be able to take his place. He is a franchise type player and once he puts on some mass, he'll be an all star.3. Atlanta Hawks- Brandan WrightThe Hawks have many options here... they could use a PG in Mike Conley Jr. but I don't believe they will go that way with this high of a pick. They could use a center in Al Horford or Yi Jianlian as well. But I don't think they can pass on Wright even though they already have some good forwards. They seem to draft a forward e...
WHICH WILL IT BE? [Snave]
2007-05-23 05:13:00
SO, now that the NBA draft lottery winners have been decided, who will play where? Will the #1 pick be Greg Oden (pictured) or Kevin Durant?I say "winners" because I live in the Pacific Northwest, and against big odds, the Portland Trailblazers won the right to choose first in this year's NBA draft, and the Seattle Supersonics will pick second! I have been a serious Blazers fan for over 30 years, but I have also followed the Sonics for the past 20 years or so. This is sweet! The Portland Oregonian has an unscientific poll going, and so far the fans want the franchise to choose Oden by about a 3-1 margin. I agree, in that a bonafide NBA "big man" only seems to come along once or twice every ten years. Portland's GM Kevin Pritchard wants to meet with both players prior to the draft; it was this interview process which led the team to choose Brandon Roy first last year. During the years when Bob Whitsitt was the Blazers' GM, the team suffered greatly in the character department. Now ...

Greg Oden
2007-04-18 21:03:00
Su capacidad at...
