Baja Fresh Mexican Grill is located in downtown Berkeley, California at 2237 Shattuck Avenue at the corner of Kittredge. It's down the block from the California Theater, so it's a great place to grab a bite before a show. The phone number is 510-548-4444.Although this is a chain/franchise Mexican restaurant, it's very good. Everything really is fresh; they cook your food on the spot. And it's inexpensive.The online Baja Fresh menu doesn't show the prices since the menu is for the whole country, but you can see the food items they offer. I can usually get a very filling lunch for less than $5 (without a drink). They also have a nice little salsa bar.This is one of my favorites in the Berkeley Restaurant Guide because the food is good, fresh and inexpensive, and the service is quick.

This is usually not a good idea, but as it turned out on this occasion, it did not matter. I passed by Chaba Thai many times in the past while driving up and down Pacific Coast Highway. They have a prominent sign outside and have (if I am not mistaken) recently renovated the establishment. It was appealing from the outside. It was time to check it out from the inside. There seems to be a never ending demand for grilling gadgets. Part of the cause for this is of course the fact that we keep buying the stuff, thus encouraging people to keep inventing and manufacturing such gadgets. Never mind. Here's an idea that we think could easily be adapted to a weekend project of our own. A piece of steel mesh and something rounded and smooth to make the wavy bending with, and we'd be home. The site that sells them says they are made from recyclable aluminum, and that's okay we suppose, but what's wrong with stainless steel? USD 2:99 for two.

Ahh, the joys of Spring in Vancouver means...RAIN! Well, it has felt that way for the longest time, but this past long weekend we were blessed with some of the hottest and sunniest weather we've had to date! What makes hot and sunny weather even better? If you guessed a "slip and slide", try again. If you said barbeque...now you're talking!We recently moved into a condo and with that came a nice sized deck, enough room for me to fit my new Weber Q 300 barbeque! This bad boy retails for $399CDN or so, but I managed to pick it up for half the price used on Craigslist--and the unit was in excellent condition. This bbq sure does beat the el cheapo' $49 mini propane bbq I was using in Victoria. Mix well, cover and refrigerate over night. Heat an outside grill and let the sauce> come to room temp. Sprinkel the chicken with lime juice and with salt and pepper, as you like. Chinese Law Prof has a post up on the two lawsuits (did I just hear of a third one out there) filed in China against CNN for Jack Cafferty's "thugs and goons" comment. The post is entitled, "CNN sued for Cafferty's 'thugs and goons' comment," and in it, Chinese Law Prof analyzes the merits of the claims under Chinese (some) and US law (none). Here's my two cents. Cent One: I do not think any of these lawsuits will ever see the light of day. I think the Chinese courts will snuff them out for political reasons based on instructions from on high. The Chinese courts have a nasty tendency not to allow filing of lawsuits they do not like or, if they do allow the filing of the lawsuit, to not allow them to be docketed and move forward. With Beijing making obvious efforts to clamp down on rampant nationalism right now, I am convinced it will squash these lawsuits to avoid any potential bad international PR. Altanbygget fortskrider, även om det inte direkt underlättas av att vi fortfarande är utan bil. I fredags hjälpte sambons äldsta bror oss att hämta en padda som mannen körde nÃ¥gra varv över gruset. Mellanbrodern fick lÃ¥na ut sin bil till oss igÃ¥r sÃ¥ att vi kunde lämna tillbaks paddan samt köpa ett gäng med brädor. Det gÃ¥r inte särskilt fort för oss, men sÃ¥ smÃ¥ningom hoppas jag att vi i alla fall ska bli nöjda med vÃ¥rt trädäck. ~ PÃ¥ kvällen blev det Ã¥rets första grillmiddag och det smakade verkligen mums! ~ Idag försöker jag vara med i EFIT. Detta tack vare Dunderboll som pÃ¥minde mig, annars hade jag garanterat missat det igen. (Jo, kameraproblemet löste sig igÃ¥r och det berodde visst pÃ¥ chaufförsfel.
