So, thanks to ILC32, now we can at least share with you the things that happened there along with some great photos showing the new BMW M3 E92 coupe. BMW is really treating us well and have put together a fantastic program. The hotel looks out right onto the Nurburgring GP track, with a view also of the first turn of the Nordschliefe. When I arrived, a different group was on the track at speed. It was really an experience to see and hear the car driven in anger. It sounds fantastic! Very exotic and powerful sounding, especially from outside of the car. Last night there was a dinner and reception in the BMW VIP lounge at the GP track. Paul Lo Duca was the teams most vocal player, but he spent as much time firing salvos at the front office and umpires as he did to his teammates. David Wright became more and more of the teams spokesman but whether it was because of his age or boy scout image he was unable to motivate his teammates. There are definitely some players who are veterans and their laid back personalities contributed to the malaise that encompassed the club. It will be up to Omar to decide what players talent out weighs their personality; Delgado, Beltran, Green, and Alou all have quiet worker like persona's, which for the most part is good to have in the clubhouse but when there's too many it makes for a complacent team. Obviously, none of our spotters had sophisticated timing equipment on the cars, but using an actual stopwatch, a member of the KGP crew clocked the GT-R at an incredible 7:38 lap. That would be two full seconds faster than the current 997-generation 911 Turbo. The legend also says the GT-R actually passed a 911 Turbo prototype during a lap.
