Abituati al cemento dilagante delle nostre città , ormai coperte da un inesauribile velo di automobili, anzi di autoferme o alla ricerca di un parcheggio, è normale sognare spazi immensi. There’s banjo used with sad tunes from far away. “Knife†looks like a quiet threatening ballad for a relationship full of discrepancies and lies and revenge is sweet (“Can’t You Feel the Knife?â€) this is probably the best song on the disk. Yet, the record is precisely worked over to turn out cohesive and hauntingly atmospheric. The band has a very wise marketing strategy to extend their vivid presence by releasing an EP in 2007, “Friend†that includes alternate takes and covers of “Yellow House†by Zack Condon (Beirut), Band of Horses, CSS, Atlas Sound and others. 2007-09-16 11:13:00 Last year I featured a mash-up by Sam Flanagan that pitched the Stone Roses ?Waterfall? with Lily Allen?s ?LDN?. It was hugely impressive with Allen?s giddy vocals perfectly matched by the Roses shimmering chords. When they work mash-up?s can be exhilarating, all the more so if you like the songs being used. Parrka has worked wonders with these two tunes. You?ll more likely know the Jose Gonzalez version of ?Heartbeats?, which stripped away the electronica but there is much to saviour in the original. Grizzly Bear?s ?The Knife? is an altogether softer anthem that benefits from getting roughed up a bit by the industrial beats. Initially the lumbering texture might confuse but careful attention reveals a near perfect symmetry between the opposing forces. Nonostante il nome scientifico lo renda ancor più minaccioso, l' Ursus arctos horribilis è un animale imponente che raggiunge anche i 2.5 metri d'altezza e i 600 chilogrammi di peso e ha una notevole agilità che lo rende veloce come un cavallo. Le sue unghie sono lunghe fino a 10 centimetri e lo sanno bene le marmotte e i cervi caduti sotto di loro, nonchè i salmoni afferrati durante la risalita dei fiumi. E anche qualche incauto turista che ha pensato bene di dar loro del cibo. La gobba sulle spalle serve per dare forza alle zampe posteriori. Oltre la metà dei circa 13.000 grizzly canadesi vive nelle vaste foreste di conifere del British Columbia. Sono animali notturni e quindi non è facilissimo incontrarli, ma la loro vista appaga il sogno della persona curiosa sia per il loro modo caracollante di incedere, sia per la loro indipendenza in un habitat ancora largamente loro.
